When to test - Period started day after sex

Am still bf 6mo DS2 and no periods. Had unprotected sex about 3 wks ago (silly bint) and had first period since giving birth the next day.

Should I bother testing? My wee smelt funny this morning (in a pregnant type way). Gawd DH would have a nervous breakdown...

I think it's very unlikely you would be pregnant if your period started the next day. But why don't you test anyway if you're worried? If you had sex 3 weeks ago any result should be showing up by now.

Well I know it's really unlikely, but if it were me I couldn't not test - after all you might have a very long wait for your next period so you might be in suspense for months. I fyou think you'd crack and end up testing anyway then you might as well get it over with now!

I got pregnant from sex two days before a period. Nuff said.

Ummm I'm not that convinced, so don't think I will bother. Thank you for your help though. I have no idea about how the whole fertility cycle works

just curious, what does 'pregnant' wee smell like? I didn't notice any difference when i was preg

Teehee! I knew someone would ask me that. I can't explain it but had it with both my pregnancies and knew before I tested that I was pregnant.

I suppose it just smells, whereas normally I don't notice it . I should probably drink more water or something

FWIW I don't really think I am pregnant (this time). I just wondered about testing because of mine and DH's stupity the other week and the fact my period restarted the next day. I WILL be more careful in the future - I think another 6 months would be a better gap
