I’ve been testing since cd 10. All light lines until yest (cd16) where they did get a bit darker so I tested 3 times not 2. Then this morning (cd 17) I had one nearly as dark as control line so is that my lh surge? I’ll test again later but I’m not sure how to work out when the surge is and when that means I’ll ovulate?

Did it start yesterday as the lines got a little darker or does it only start when the lines are the same colour ?? I’m really confused

we have dtd days 10-14, missed day 15 and dtd day 16 of my cycle.

This is cycle 18 for us so feeling the pressure

I was trying for 3 years and never got a "positive" ovulation test with the line as dark as the control. I just watched for a darker line that coincided with other ovulation symptoms - principally EWCM.

I had ewcm but on cd 12 when the ovulation test was really light so I’m totally confused!

All the others pre cd 15 we’re just as light as cd 15 I just couldn’t fit them all in the picture

It doesn’t matter when your surge started it’s from the first positive (which is when line is as dark as it darker than the control line). If you have a quick surge then you may miss your first positive. This happens to me a lot.

none of those are positive but the latest one (17) is a lot darker than the others so I would say that it will be darker later when you do another. Make sure you have at least a 3 hour hold if possible (no peeing or drinking) before you take the test. I am pretty sure you’re going to be positive today but you need to test to be sure

The tests before today are not dark enough to be a surge but todays definitely is but as I say don’t go by a surge that just shows you it’s happening soon and to up the tests you go by a positive test. If you get more than one day of positive tests (some people do) then again it’s the first positive that counts

I get EWCM starting up to 5 days before I get a positive test so again it’s a sign you’re fertile and will be ovulating in the coming days so crack on with dtd.

I have gotten pregnant using opk’s for the last 2 cycles but unfortunately both ended in early miscarriages but I’ve learnt a lot about taking them and about my body

So if today is my surge then it means I’ll ovulate in the next 12-24 hours ?

@Ovulationtest not surge as a surge can last days before a positive with some people but yes once your LH is positive then ovulation is usually 12-36 hours afterwards. As mentioned, a positive OPK doesn’t confirm ovulation it just confirms the LH surge. Some people have an LH surge but don’t ovulate every cycle or have multiple LH surges in a cycle but only ovulated after one. That’s why for the first cycle using the tests it’s worth doing your whole cycle just to make sure you only have the one surge (unless you BBT as this will confirm it for you). Generally for most people though it’s 12-36 hours after your LH is first positive
