Ttc after a miscarriage

I'm just wondering if anyone has tried to conceive after a loss?

Myself and my partner have been Ttc for around a year. We fell pregnant earlier in the year but it sadly ended in a miscarriage (I was 8 weeks) this was in July. We've been Ttc since and I'm finding myself filled with anxiety on if the miscarriage has some how stopped us conceiving again. Along with the fear of it we do get a bfp it may end the same as last time.

I know it's only been s few months since, but I can't help but to feel paranoid. Idk if that's to be expected or if it's me being irrational? I just want to know if anyone's been there and could maybe offer some reassurance :/

@Trxshpxnda you are not alone. There are lots and lots of us on here in your position. There are quite a few active threads where you’ll hear from other people in the same position.
I read a paper recently where they asked women on labour wards with term pregnancy if they’d ever had a previous loss. Around 40% of them had a miscarriage at some point in their lives. It’s desperately common, even if people don’t talk about it.
Tommies and Sands charities both have excellent resources on their websites, I used them a lot after I lost my first pregnancy at 15 weeks at the start this year. I’m still trying for my rainbow. I hope this is the month for you.

Yes as pp said there are a lot of people who have gone through one or more losses, many are on here. I had a missed miscarriage in early April when I found out at 9 weeks, then had surgery in late May due to retained products. I had similar thoughts ‘what if the prolonged miscarriage has affected something, or the surgery has left scars?’ it’s normal to have thoughts like that, but it doesn’t mean you won’t conceive again. I found many people had a loss and then went on to have a pregnancy to term.

The one thing I did differently after the miscarriage/surgery was to track my ovulation with opk and bbt. I wanted to know that I was still ovulating, and it also helped to know we were covering each cycle rather than estimating. I’m now 17 weeks on my second pregnancy.

Good luck ttc and I hope you get the bfp soon.

@Trxshpxnda yes me too, I also had a mmc in July at 8 weeks. The anxiety and panic has been awful about getting pregnant again. You’re not alone and you’re not being irritational I think it’s really normal to feel this way xx
