Hi eveyone. So, this is month 6 of ttc our second child and my 6th month of believing I am definitely pregnant 🤣🤪🙈 This month however, something does feel different - as well as the many ‘signs’ I also just feel different somehow.

Anyway, I’m 12dpo today and used an internet cheapie this morning - BFN. I have regular 28 days cycles and always ovulate on day 14 when I have used the ovulation tests.

6dpo I started cramping and have had this every day since - mild and intermittent. 8dpo I cried out in front of hubby as it felt as though I had been stabbed with a knitting needle on my ride side low down. 9dpo onwards I have had mild cramping, loads of discharge, extreme tiredness and dreadful irritability. None of these things are typical for me; I normally get a few mild cramps around 10dpo onwards that gradually get worse before af.

This morning I woke up to find my skin is all blotchy (I normally have great skin). The last 3 days I have done both an internet cheapie pregnancy test strip and an ovulation strip (I have loads so thought I would out of interest) and all 3 days I have tested positive on the ovulation test strip (got darker each day) but negative on the pregnancy strip. I have a pack of 2 clearblue digital that I won’t use until I either get a positive on a cheapie or miss my period as I have wasted so many tests the past few moths by over testing too early.

Do any of you have any experience of this yourselves re the ovulation tests etc? Or did you have similar symptoms to me and get your BFP? I just need some feedback as the next 2 days are going to be Longggggggg!! Thanks ☺️🙏

Hi, it is normal to have another LH surge when approaching AF or pregnancy. So they're not reliable at all to measure for pregnancy as it isn't actually testing for the pregnancy hormone hcg. It is testing for lh level only. So I would bet hung up on the ovulation tests. And as much as you're having different symptoms this month, you can always get brand new symptoms that aren't normal to you over the years. Since ttc for myself I have had all sorts of symptoms I have never experienced before, but always ended in AF arriving. The case may be different for you. But the only true way to know is once you get your bfp or af, to know what the symptoms were linked to. It is all just normal hormones until then. The best of luck and hoping this is the month for you!! Just get through the next couple of days and test again.

** wouldn't get hung up on

Thank you for sharing these. Congratulations 🎉 I bet you are over the moon. I will test again to tomorrow morning with another cheapie and keep my fingers crossed the OPKs are a good sign. Mine wasn’t as dark as yours were later on so who knows it could be good news for me too. Xx

Yes, I know you are right re using the OPKs however, the last 5 months I have used them between cycle day 14 and 28 and only got a spike for 1-2 days right before af arrives (quite faint too) so this is a new one for me that they have been positive for 3 days straight and are getting darker. Thank you - I will try to stay busy for the next 2 days. As you know, it’s so tough waiting it out. Xx

Update: I am not officially late for af. I have had 5 days straight now of positive OPKs (getting slowly darker) and my cramps are very mild and intermittent (this is day 8 of cramps and discharge). I also have sore boobs still and haven’t got my usual pre-period spots or headache. BUT I still don’t have that posituve BFP. Going a little bit insane with this limbo tbh 😤😩🙏

@BabyJays oh you poor thing that is so fustrating!! The discharge isn’t like ewcm I guess so not that you’re now ovulating? X

BabyJays · 27/11/2022 14:14

No not ewcm at all. I had tons of that on CD12-CD16 and tested positive for ovulation around the too so this is so weird and has never happened to me before. I just want to know now as it’s driving me mad and working out my dates and realising that I will be due on again on boxing day isn’t helping my mood 🎄😭🍷 x

@BabyJays very weird, have you used all different kinds of test by now? Xx

BabyJays · 27/11/2022 14:37

@ChloeN so far I have only used the internet cheapies and today I used a clearblue digital. I’m assuming now that I am just late for af but I’m not sure enough to have my monthly commiseratory wine 😭 I will update once I know x

Not this month sadly! As expected but it just goes to show we really shouldn’t use the OPKs or test too early as it only makes the confusion and disappointment worse. Onward and upwards . . Here’s to a Christmas bfp 🎄🙏

Hey, just looking for some first time advice!

I recently took some pregnancy tests, which appeared to show a faint line, I couldn't quite believe it so rushed out to the supermarket to get a clear blue last night.

I have just done another test and there is definitely a line, however I read this could be an evaporation line? I'm feeling so excited but trying to hold back, just in case!

This test is from first thing this morning, results in the first few minutes.

Hi all, first post here. In third month of TTC. For some reason thought (niaively) it would happen straight away but hopeful it will happen soon! Have a 25 day cycle and when I Google lots of websites that this may be a sign that it will be harder to conceive as it is on the short side. Anyone else with a 25 day cycle or shorter have any info to share??

Conception calculator, also known as fertilization, is the process by which a sperm cell from a male and an egg cell from a female combine to form a fertilized egg or zygote. Conception is a critical step in human reproduction and the beginning of a new human life. Here’s a brief overview of how conception occurs:

  1. Ovulation: In the female reproductive system, a mature egg is released from one of the ovaries during a process called ovulation. This typically occurs once a month, roughly in the middle of the menstrual cycle. The released egg enters the fallopian tube.
  2. Sperm Maturation: In the male reproductive system, sperm cells are continuously produced in the testes. Sperm cells undergo a maturation process in the epididymis, where they gain the ability to swim and fertilize an egg.
  3. Fertilization: Sexual intercourse allows sperm to be deposited into the female’s vagina. The sperm then travel through the cervix and into the uterus, and from there, they may enter one of the fallopian tubes. If a sperm cell encounters the egg in the fallopian tube, it can penetrate the egg’s outer membrane through a process called fertilization. This fusion of the sperm and egg nuclei results in the formation of a fertilized egg or zygote.

Hi everyone, this is my first time posting. I’ve not been on any contraception for about 6 months, I haven’t been tracking my periods/ovulation but myself and my partner agreed if it happened it happened! Up until now my periods have been like clockwork every 25-27 days and they been my whole life pretty much!
However, I am now 3 days late with no sign of my period making an appearance. I always get period cramps a day or two before I’m due on. I have had some symptoms too, headaches, bloating, nausea, dizziness, tiredness and the most unusual is insomnia. I wake up at 2am and can not get back to sleep I’ve never had this before!
I’ve done 3 tests and all negative - 2 were clear blue and one cheap one.
I know it’s unlikely I am pregnant now, or is it? Could there be something else going on? Or should I try and get a blood test done?
I am having “cramps” as I type this but they feel different to normal period cramps, kind of between period cramps and wind 😂

Any advice or similar stories would be appreciated 😊
