hi all,

ive found out im pregnant today trying to work out dates but im not sure what counts as my LMP i started spotting 3 days before a full flo come do i count the 1st day of when the spotting began or when the flo was heavier? I know it doesnt make too much difference but would like to know as booking early scan for 6 weeks

I think they say first day is when you're 'full flow' by 10am that day?

Agree with @njh21 for the calculation. It's also best to choose the later date if you're booking an earlier scan as 3 days difference could be the difference between seeing something - a lot changes between 5+4 and 6+0 on USS!
We went for a private early scan too, but they recommended not to book until 6 weeks after the positive test (we went around 8 weeks) so you could more certain of seeing a heartbeat :)

I'd discount the spotting, take it from the first day you were filling a pad .

You don’t count the spotting. CD1 is the first day of full flow (needing sanitary protection).

Thank you everyone i did think this, when i rang the scan they wanted to count it from spotting and i also thought this could be the difference between seeing something and not so im going to wait, thank you for the replies:)
