@Koalie amazing news!! Please keep us posted on Monday too and good luck!

2021lady · 16/01/2023 19:43

Cd1 for me today
Ahhh I feel deflated but it is what it is
I'll be doing another round of letrozole this cycle. I hope it works
I was so so hopeful this cycle had worked.
This week marks 2 years since we decided ttc number 2
My emotions are strong today :( I'm heavy to give up

Yolo23 · 16/01/2023 20:31

@2021lady sorry to hear how you’re feeling 😩 anniversaries tend to feel far harder when they’re on the horizon. Especially when you felt so hopeful this cycle. It really can be so unfair! Hoping you get some positive news on the next cycle. Try to keep busy and get a plan written on paper is what helps me! Best of luck xx

BakinABaby · 16/01/2023 23:45

@Koalie Great result! Looking forward to your day3 numbers, fingers crossed for you.

Koalie · 17/01/2023 08:16

Sorry I didn’t update you all yesterday! So of the 6 ICSI embryos, 5 have divided and 4 are looking really good! & of the 8 IVF, all 8 have divided and 4 are looking really good! So 8 gooduns in total so far 🤞🏼I’m scheduled for transfer tomorrow but I still feel really tender and bloated so I’m a bit worried about OHSS 🥺 I had 36 follicles in total but the clinic don’t seem to be worried about me getting it. Think I will ask for a scan before they transfer tomorrow.

@2021lady sorry to hear you’re feeling sad ☹️ CD1 is always a killer and it mustn’t have helped that it was blue Monday! Treat yourself to some things you wouldn’t be able to do if you were pregnant, that’s what I always do ☺️ & also get a timeline and a plan in place for your next steps and treat them like stepping stones to get to your baby. Hope today’s a better day for you x

Good luck with the transfer tomorrow!! Don't worry about ohss I'm sure you'll be fine x

I'm feeling better today. Cd1 always hits hard but I soon pick myself up. Its an emotional roller coaster this whole ttc thing. But onwards and upwards eh

SaraSS · 17/01/2023 12:12

@Koalie that's amazing! Good luck tomorrow, keep us posted :-)

lemons44 · 17/01/2023 12:38

@Koalie Hoorah! You'll be in the two week wait in no time :D

Carla2601 · 17/01/2023 20:41

@Koalie all the luck for tomorrow and great news re your numbers!!

I got severe OHSS but wasn’t at all bloated and didn’t have nearly as many follicles so try not to worry as may not be so related. Also it was bad but totally worth it

Tinkerbell098 · 18/01/2023 00:02

@Koalie good luck for transfer tomorrow. Take plenty of fluids and plenty of rest. Will be thinking of you X

Koalie · 18/01/2023 13:00

Thanks ladies !
So glad I pushed for a scan/bloods, as it’s confirmed I have got OHSS! So it’ll be a freeze all (waiting for them to confirm whether they will have 6 or 7 to freeze!) I’m obviously a bit disappointed there’s more of a wait (and now blood thinning injections 🙄) but mostly relieved to know I’m giving my body time to recover. So celebrating the small win of having lots of frosties, as this is such a huge step in the right direction for us (and now I can have a glass of wine for my efforts 😆) thanks for all rooting for me! 🥰

Tinkerbell098 · 18/01/2023 13:23

@Koalie so so glad you pushed for it! You know your body better than anyone else. Hope you make a speedy recovery. Aww a glass of wine sounds nice. Remember the hardest part is done. Honestly, FET's are much better and you'll have time to fully heal. Hope you can start again very soon.

TheBirdintheCave · 18/01/2023 13:34

@Koalie I'm glad you asked and they found it. Have a well earned rest now. Sorry about the extra wait though :(

BakinABaby · 18/01/2023 21:46

We had our consultation today. Husbands sperm was fine as were most of my bloods. My testosterone was very low, but she said there's not really anything they do about that. And she did send me to do a repeat of my CA125 and if it comes back high a second time around we'll discuss possible endometriosis. But other than that since we have one child conceived spontaneously (albeit after a while of trying) and I'm only 31 she told us to keep trying and to come back if I'm not pregnant by august and then go on with IVF.
I was pretty eager to get pregnant asap last year, but now that the small age gap train has pulled from the station I don't really care that much anymore. I'm fine with trying for a while more even if I'm not holding much hope. Makes making summer plans easier :D

lemons44 · 19/01/2023 13:36

@Koalie well done for trusting your own body and gut instinct! How long do they think you will need to wait until transfer?

@BakinABaby it sounds like the consultation has helped you feel more comfortable in a plan and hopefully has helped you relax abit about things.

Sorry you had a down day @2021lady ☹️ hope your doing better now.

We had our NHS funding appointment this morning so that will now take about 3 weeks. Our sperm is being transported on 26th to our new clinic. I also told my manager today that I was going to be having IVF soon and I'm glad I did. Although I feel kind of awkward and embarrassed, I'm hoping it will be worth it when I have a bit of extra support around appointments etc. DH has a testosterone test next week which is standard after a micro tese to check that by taking a chunk of his testicle out it hasn't affected his testosterone. So all in all it's all ticking along here x

@lemons44 great to hear things are moving for you! We might even end up having our transfers around the same time 😆 From what I can work out, they will start down regulation next cycle and then go again with more injections to prepare my lining for transfer the cycle after that. So potentially about another 7/8 weeks from now 😩 x

Tinkerbell098 · 19/01/2023 14:35

@Koalie have they talked you through the FET yet? will they be downregulating as well? In my clinic, for FET, you start oestrogen tablets three times a day starting on day 2-6 of your cycle and also start pessaries about 5 days before transfer. It's much simpler than a fresh cycle and much kinder to your body. No injections involved, unless they want you on lubion, but that would be after transfer to give extra progesterone support if needed.

Tinkerbell098 · 19/01/2023 14:36

@lemons44 that sounds like great progress. Glad to hear everything's moving swiftly now. You deserve it after everything you've been through in the past year.

Koalie · 19/01/2023 14:41

@Tinkerbell098 - is that considered a natural cycle? I did ask briefly about it yesterday and the consultant said they tend to do regulated FET’s because it gives them more control. From what I can see online, natural and regulated both seem to have similar results (with natural being slightly better maybe) but a lot of places do regulated because then they can choose the transfer date and there’s no chance of it falling on a day that they’re not open (and therefore then having to try again the following month) … 🤔 x

Tinkerbell098 · 19/01/2023 14:45

@Koalie it's still classed as medicated as they're giving oestrogen, and effectively, not relying on ovulation/ natural cycle. So they can still control the window of when they can transfer. I know some clinics do a bit of down regulation, so takes a bit longer. Mine gives a choice, and calls it long FET or short FET.

Koalie · 19/01/2023 14:52

@Tinkerbell098 oh gosh, there seems to be so many options it’s confusing me. Maybe I need to ask to talk this through with them 🤯 thanks for your help xx

lemons44 · 19/01/2023 15:44

Thanks both, it is a relief to finally be moving forward. Today the nurse asked us why we left our old clinic and so we told her all the issues we had. She said so far she hasn't heard a single good thing about that clinic from another patient 😱😱 so we definitely made the right choice to ditch them!

@Tinkerbell098 how are you getting on with things? x

@Koalie it's such a waiting game. How long was the process for you from starting to egg collection? I think mine will be longer as they want to down regulate me first. How are you feeling with the OHSS? Hope you are resting x

Koalie · 19/01/2023 15:48

@lemons44 for sure, you’re well rid of them! Did you ever get anywhere with a complaint? I had Norethisterone for a few days to delay my period so that my dates didn’t fall over the time when they were shut for Christmas but I started stims on the 2nd Jan and had my egg collection on 13th so it was pretty quick for me xx

Koalie · 19/01/2023 15:51

@lemons44 oh & thanks for asking how I’m feeling 🥰 just bloated and uncomfortable really and a bit sore when my dog jumps on me and pokes his paws in my ovaries 🙄 I’m on the sofa, working from home x
