Positive or dud test??

Hello,

Posting a pic of my test from this morning- has anyone had this with a first response test before? It’s definitely less than a year old so isn’t out of date. It’s the first test I’ve done since missing my period and I’d be 5 weeks 2 days. Seems strange that the control line is so faint.

thank you for any comments!

Looks hyper positive. Could last period have been a pregnant bleed? Can you get to shops today for another, perhaps a digital one? I’m no expert but you need to work out what’s going on. And lastly, I’m pretty sure that’s positive!

positive

If your 5+2 then that’s what I’d expect to see on a frer as they detect a low hcg level and your hcg will be very high by now. It’s called a dye stealer. Congratulations x

Thank you for the reply!
I don’t think so re my last period- that was a usual 28 day cycle, usual symptoms and we didn’t dtd around ovulation.
I’m just cautious because I don’t really have any symptoms- just sore boobs and that test would indicate high hcg if it isn’t a dud.
I’ll buy some more tests today, just annoying as they’re so pricy!

Yes this is a dye stealer, where you have so much HCG in your urine, pink dye from the control line is pulled over to the test line, making the control line look really faint. Congratulations!
