COMING OFF THE PILL

HI ⭐️

So a few months back I ended up having a missed miscarriage whilst on the pill. We didn't think we wanted another just yet but after having the miscarriage it made us realise actually maybe now is the right time to have another.

Last week I decided to stop taking my pill so that we could start trying. I just wondered what was everyone's experiences coming off the pill to try and Conceive? How long did it take? What symptoms to look out for regarding Ovulation (its been 4 years since I was pill free) and also what were your periods like after coming off the pill?

Thanks in advance for your comments and help
🥰❤️

Really sorry to hear about your MC. I came off my pill in April, had my normal withdrawal bleed. Roughy mid cycle I had really horrible pains in my side and a little spotting, turned out to be ovulation but we were still being safe at this point as I wanted to have a real period first which appeared in may and wasn't half as bad as I thought. Come June I had my next real period however fast forward to July..... no period 😁 I fell on first month of trying and we are now almost 24 weeks pregnant with a boy 💙💙 x. Good luck and try not get too caught up in it all to begin with x

I tried fir 6 months for dd. Then we decided a few later that it was time fir dc2. I came off pill thinking it would take similar time. I must of ovulate immediately and I never had a period just a positive pregnancy test a few weeks later! Earlier than expected but it's apparently quite common so be prepared!

Thank you for sharing your experiences!

I have only been off roughly a week and today I've started to get funny fluttering feelings in my stomach- kinda feels like a period coming but nothing has come yet and also my boobs are quite sensitive... so wondered if this could be ovulation maybe.

We have DTD already and although we do want to try for another we aren't putting pressure on ourselves or going out our way to "make" it happen. We aren't being safe in order to TTC and it will happen when it happens sort of thing.

I just feel out of sorts with my body and what to look out for after being on the pill for so long thats all. So thank you for your help ⭐️

This is just the story I wanted to read! I came off in May, we started trying straight away but nothing this month. Had my first real period start on 1st June and hoping this month will be our month! Counting last cycle as our "practice round"

The first time I came off the pill after being on it for a loooong time, it took 3 months for me to have my first proper period but then I fell pregnant straight away after that. I was getting worried about how long it would take for my cycle to return.

@Livingmydream25 just take it as it comes 🫶🏻 don't get too caught up. My boy is now 15 months, he's wild but adorable. My biggest relief was not getting too caught up in the ovulation and trying etc cos that would have been too hard x

Thank you 🩶 We're just enjoying the trying and i'm a firm believer of things always work out for the best. But we wanted a baby once we got married, nearly 3 years ago and put it off for my career. I finish my 10 year training in September and I'm just a little inpatient, ready for our baby!!

I purposefully came off the pill mid February to start trying in May (as they advise that it can take 3 months for pill to no longer have an affect and i wanted to track my cycle for a couple of months). So before May we used condoms (I wanted to avoid a Christmas baby too!). Fell pregnant first try when we stopped with the condoms in late April/early May. I feel as though it probably would have happened sooner if we weren't using other protection after the pill.
