Cycle now 6 weeks post-Pill - when to test?

So I’ve recently come off the Pill so we can TTC. I was on it for many years.

My cycle used to be every 25 days like clockwork. Since coming off the Pill, I’ve had a withdrawal bleed and two actual periods with 6 weeks between each of these.

Assuming my cycle continues to be every 6 weeks, when do I test? Do I effectively now have a 4WW before I can? Or can I test 2 weeks after I ovulate? Thanks for any advice!

Are you measuring ovulation with opk or bbt? Usually it’s the follicular stage that tends to vary in length, once ovulation occurs you should be able to test two weeks later. Conception needs to happen shortly after ovulation and then implantation can be 6-12days. So testing at 14dpo should be fine.

Just don’t assume you ovulate on day 14, it’s a misconception. I ovulate on day 18 (for a 31 day cycle) and as late as day 24 due to late ovulation.

Your body might just need time to settle and could eventually go back to ~25 days (hormones do really odd things to our bodies). Unless that 25 days was regulated by the pill, in which case it was controlled by hormones and won’t necessarily be your cycle pattern now.

Thanks for the reply! Been using OPKs a bit and seem to ovulate very early on.

The 25 days was natural, pre-pill.
