Partner and I have been trying to conceive our first child for 18 months. I made an appointment with the dr in June and after all her tests, there's nothing wrong with either of us. I'm 34 and he's 32. His sperm look good, swim fast and are plentiful and I seem to be absolutely fine. We've been referred and we're waiting for our first appointment at the fertility clinic.
Anyway, we've decided we're going to have one month of trying everything. So I'm looking for your top tips. What works? What did you buy? Which brand? Positions??? I joke but I'm serious.,,
I'm aware this is probably a waste of time but we want one last crack of it. Previously, we've only tried clearblue ovulation strips.
I should add, I'm actually okay with all of this. I'm not frantic and I'm not desperate, I believe this will happen and now that we have a referral, it feels like a weight of my shoulders. But, we want one last big effort and then we'll go back to sex for a laugh and wait for our referral. Smile

Do it every other day throughout the month if you can manage it.

Maybe try not to track your cycle too closely and just roll with it.

I hate the "just relax" advice but there is a smidge of truth in it. It took us 19 months to conceive with fertility appointments, surgery etc etc and the one month I was like stuff it I can't be bothered, I got pregnant!

That's really good advice. It's funny, I've recently discussed with a pregnant friend who went through similar and she was doing all the tests etc and gel pregnant after she and partner got drunk at a festival! There's something in the concept of letting go...

Relax
Getting tipsy makes you more relaxed, of course it can make men a little too relaxed.
Lavender is great at lowering stress.

You’ll probably find when you give up with the idea, you’ll just get pregnant.

Good luck

Forgot
A 3 week holiday…if you can do that?
The first week is to wind down. The last week is always about going back.
Its that middle week that will do it. Time the middle week to when you’re most likely to get pregnant.

Eat extremely well. No alcohol, sugar or caffeine

Ovulation sticks

Lots of sleep

Lose weight if you're plump - this was upon my doctor's recommendation

mackthepony · 21/01/2023 02:42

I also used Ovia, an ovulation app.

BritishDesiGirl · 21/01/2023 10:08

*Start tracking ovulation - l use ClearBlue other brands are available but for me, they took the guess work out of when l was ovulating .

  • Start taking folic acid

  • I was using preseed lube, helps sperm mobility

  • Do not do any kind of squatting, it can push the uterus downwards- and no l'm not a doctor but l went to someone who did homeopathy and she did some exercises with me which showed that my uterus was down and not were it should be.

  • Start having sex after your period ends, every other day.

Have sex for a laugh this month. Enjoy each other, go on dates, seduce each other.

'i really want you' not 'im ovulating'
