FF chart experts! Help me figure this out

Hi :) Can anyone who temps regularly help me decipher this?

I started temping last month (TTC2 cycle 11) and had a normal cycle with solid crosshairs that predicted ovulation happened when I had the other symptoms that would coincide with it (EWCM, cramps etc).

This month I had all of my usual signs of O (albeit a bit later than normal as I was sick with Covid the week before) but my temperature didn't rise until five days after what I thought might be an O dip on CD 21.

This morning FF has given me hashed crosshairs which I take to mean that it's not sure but it thinks this is when I ovulated. It seems a weird choice though. If I ovulated when it says that I did then there's no way I'll ever get pregnant as my CM was thick and creamy then and had been for days.

So. According to FF I am 3dpo. According to me and my other symptoms I am 7dpo.

Who is more likely to be right?

Hard to say with all the gaps earlier in the cycle, but I'd guess FF, as it's the first time there's been a sustained rise in your temps. Are you using a BBT thermometer? The 3 days of identical temps look a bit suspect...

@curliegirlie The gaps where due to Covid so I don't think I would have got a true reading if I'd kept testing :/

And no, it's just a regular digital one. I didn't bother buying a proper BBT one as last months chart (the trial) seemed to work well. Can you chart more than one decimal point in FF?

Yep! And it could make all the difference and make your chart make a lot more sense. To be honest, I think the thermometer issue is more the problem than the gaps. 1 DP just isn't sensitive enough.

Ah ok, perhaps I should have got one then😂Oh well, I was a bit late to the game in terms of deciding to start temping anyway. Next cycle will most likely be an IVF round if there's no waiting list at our private clinic so I won't need to buy one now at least 😄

Update in case anyone finds this and wants to know what happened.

I got a faint BFP at (what I guessed was) 10dpo this morning after 11 long months :D Seems @curliegirlie you were right that the thermometer wasn't accurate enough and it seems I really did ovulate when I had the EWCM and pains after all :D

Now I just have to hope it sticks 🙏
