Hi there,
As a teenager I was diagnosed as having pcos. I was never overweight but had excess hair and painful irregular periods. As I got older it seemed to fix itself. I have 2 sons which I conceived naturally. I'm 37 now and my husband and I are trying to conceive and have been since July. I've had a bleed every month since, lasting about 2 days. (I had the coil in prior to this) The GP won't do anything until I've been trying for 6 months. Is anyone else in this position or can offer any advice? Thanks xx

I don’t have PCOS so have no experience myself but I’ve seen a lot on these boards that OPK’s aren’t always very good to use for people with pcos

Thank you I did read that. I've been going with cervical mucus now, sorry if too much information!

Nothing is too much information here 😂. If you get CM I would say that’s a good indicator

Fingers crossed x

Try using ClearBlue Ovulation tests OP. I found them much better than the strips

Thank you, I'll give them a shot x

They are quite expensive. I just purchased the advanced digital tests from Ebid for £21.49, they are retailing in other places for upto £40.

See another doctor honestly there is a very straight forward blood test they can do to see if you are ovulating and ask to check egg reserve as well. I've been trying for a year had a MC in January and nothing since and my periods have almost disappeared my Gp sent me for an ultrasound of my womb and ovaries which all looks ok next step is blood test AMH and if I need to be referred on after that she is sending me to a fertility specialist . Your doctor needs to listen to you if you are testing and you aren't ovulating then it needs to be investigated.

Thank you. I tried to get an appointment today but unfortunately gone by the time I got through. I managed to get an appointment for the nurse, hopefully she will take blood required xx

How often are you using the ovulation test strips?

I used easy@home ovulation tests when trying for DC2. I didn’t actually manage to get a positive ovulation result until I increased testing to twice per day, but the first positive ovulation test I got was the cycle we conceived on.
