Hi just looking some advice, on my first month of ttc. I am currently 3 dpo and have cramps in lower back and abdomen and really tender nipples! I have never noticed this during my cycle before apart from tender nipples right before my period starts. My period isn't due for another 14 days. Has anyone else every experienced this?

Are you fresh off contraception? If you are, welcome to the joy of natural cycles (not!). I get cramps around ovulation and sore boobs from ovulation to a couple of days before my period arrives. Never had that on the pill before TTC

You will be a lot more aware of things now you’re ttc. I never thought I had any feelings between ovulation and my period before I started ttc. Turns out I definitely do I just wasn’t aware before as paid no attention.

at only 3dpo it’s not because of pregnancy. Doesn’t mean you won’t end up pregnant this cycle it’s just that implantation wouldn’t have happened yet. Earliest that happens is 6dpo and then that’s rare (around 0.05%). Until implantation happens nothing you feel can be pregnancy. Rising progesterone causes the same feelings.

Yeah I stopped the pill at the start of September after being on it for about 8 years so I'm very out of the loop in terms of my cycle. I was just wondering because I had gotten the nipple tenderness a few days after I ovulated. I think I'm just getting too hung up on things 🙈

@Babydream2022 sorry I know this is an old thread but did your symptoms you experienced after ovulation turn out to be pregnancy?!

XenaTheWarriorPrincess · 21/09/2023 18:41

@spacewitch10 no they wouldn't have. Even if op was pregnant, it's physically impossible to have symptoms of pregnancy at 3dpo because it's physically impossible to be pregnant at that stage (6dpo is the earliest you can implant)

I had the same last cycle, plenty symptoms from O to af. Cramps, bloating the lot! Progesterone must have been on over drive or something
