TTC pressure!

Hello

This is our third cycle TTC #1 after three CPs earlier this year and I can feel the pressure mounting. I'm 33 next month so I know I'm edging closer to a fertility dip.

Do you ladies feel pressure too? How do you deal with it? I'm half tempted to leave the active trying for a few months and then start again properly in the new year but then again...that's two cycles 'wasted'. I know my darling husband is feeling the pressure from me too which we both hate. I'm not sure what to do, my head is swimming!

Sorry about your losses @JuniperandI. Have you considered speaking to GP about potentially investigating recurrent MC?

I had two myself last year, a chemical and a MMC at 10 weeks, two in a row hit me hard - was very much feeling the pressure too at 35yo. I had to take time off then as it set off my old anxiety disorder. For around 6 months I just focused on healing mentally and physically, and while the worry about ‘missing cycles’ never quite left, I needed that time to take care of myself, health, relationships. I fell PG after that at 36 and am 23 weeks. I know it doesn’t work like that for many but for me that time off was essential. Best of luck x

Sorry for your losses 😔 Have you spoken to a doctor or anything about them? Could it be low progesterone or something? I’m no expert but in the ‘trying’ boat too. This is our third month and we conceived third time lucky last time so feel like I’ve brushed it off the last two months but might be a bit more depressed about it this month if it’s a no 🤦🏼‍♀️ I know 3 months is nothing in the grand scheme of things but it’s all you think about! When people ask how long it took to conceive my first I say 3 months and they’re always like ‘not long’ etc but when you’re in it 90 days feels like a really long time 😩 hope you’re lucky this month!

@SiberFox thank you, I'm sorry for your losses ❤

My GP has run some blood tests, all normal. They've referred me but it can take 18 months to get an appointment 😩

We took a 2 month break in the middle of the year. I think I just need to calm down, recognize when I'm being anxious and realize that it's not helping me!

@BCxx thank you.

My GP has referred me for testing for low progesterone but who knows when I'll hear back 🤷‍♀️

Three months does feel like a long time doesn't it? So many people are telling me to relax, it'll happen in time etc...it's getting so annoying!

@JuniperandI yeah it’s impossible to relax if you try to force yourself to relax 🙈 I kept getting an early period so wasn’t getting enough time after ovulation for implantation to even happen. Im hopeful it’s either sorted itself out this cycle or the vitamins/herbal things I’ve taken have helped. When I was looking into it all cortisol that’s released when you’re stressed, physically blocks progesterone from increasing as it fills the space it needs to take (non scientific explanation). I couldn’t believe how much stress can actually stop you from getting pregnant. One of the things I took was ashwagandha to try and relax me a bit but I know it’s the stress from work causing it

JuniperandI · 08/11/2022 07:14

@BCxx that's interesting. I've heard of ashwagandha - do you think it's worked for you? I might give it a try...can it be taken during & after ovulation or is it a before ovulation kind of deal?

@JuniperandI i think it’s fine to take until you get a BFP. Ovulation has came forward 4 days so I’m hoping that gives me more time after so possibly has but I’m also taking vitamin C (for uterus lining), pregnacare and took maca root up to ovulation and now switched to agnus castus after ovulation to try and push it back as far as possible
