No test line progression - in limbo!

I posted a couple of days ago with an unexpected faint positive on pregnancy test (14dpo).
I have now tested morning and evening since then. This morning (17dpo) was the 6th test I took. Some of the tests showed a faint positive within 5 mins. Yesterday evening and this morning a faint positive only appeared after half an hour or so.

I'm thinking this looks like a chemical pregnancy as surely the lines should be getting darker? So I'm also wondering when I'll start bleeding if that is the case.

I'm sure about when I ovulated as I had just started using testing strips in preparation for ttc next year, and happened to have a (fertility checking) scan just afterwards.

I'm in a slightly odd situation so I'm ok with whichever way this goes, but a lot hinges on it, so this strange limbo is awful! I'm also seeing the (potential) father tomorrow and was hoping I'd have a clear answer for the nail-biting little chat we're going to have...

(Oh goodness. When did my life become a soap?)

Pic is all the tests so far, the bottom one is this morning's after about 10 mins.

If it was me I'd try a different brand just in case .. have you got any FRERs?

ShirleyNotAndDontCallMeShirley · 03/11/2022 13:32

I'll get some first response ones, thank you for the tip.
Are the strips known to be a bit rubbish? I'm new to all this...

@ShirleyNotAndDontCallMeShirley I'm not really sure.. I don't have much experience with the strips but I'm pretty sure they aren't as sensitive and you may get a clearer line on a FRER.. fingers crossed for you! 🤞x

Definitely get a frer then take another 48 hours later. I really hope it’s going to be all good for you but I had a chemical 2 weeks ago and it was a faint positive on cheapie at 12dpo then a good line on frer and boots at 14dpo but 48 hours no darker then it got lighter then negative. The tests were negative before I started bleeding. I started bleeding nearly a week after AF was due (and had the bfp). I really hope it’s not the case for you 🤞

Thank you.
I'm actually ok whichever way this goes. It's the not knowing that's getting to me!
Off to shops for test now.

No first response tests in the pharmacy. Ordered some online, in the meantime I got a Lloyds brand early one. A faint line appeared within 5 mins.
Still faint.
More waiting game, I suppose!

Just to update, the limbo is over. Started bleeding quite heavily last night, after an extremely pale test (very faint line after half an hour).
I know it's probably for the best in my situation, but it does feel weird. Never been pg before and was going to start trying next year. Going to count is as a trial run...
