Ovulation date - static smiley question

Question (to stop me incessantly googling / my brain melting / spamming lots of the TTC threads)... I use digital clearblue ovulation kit which I find really useful.

Do you think I should take my ovulation date as the date the first static smiley shows, or is actual ovulation usually the day after the static smiley?

Static smiley was CD15 and today is CD24.

Had stabbing on lower left abdomen this morning and now have what feels exactly like early period pains but I'm not due for another 5 days or so.

Really hoping I'm not out for the month but also don't want to test before AF is due as it upsets me every month seeing a BFN,

Cycle ranges from 30-34 days usually.

Any experience / advice welcome!

Sorry I have no idea on the CB question! But I wanted to chime in that period type pains (earlier than usual) was my very first pregnancy symptom so don't get disheartened based on that

I’ve taken it as day after

I’ve taken it as the day after but I DTD only the day off and day after and I’ve just tested positive. I had cramps / mild PP from 4/5dpo! Good luck x

If I assume ovulation is the day after a static, that was on CD16 and we DTD CD14 ,15 and 16.

And it would make me 8DPO today.

Not testing till AF is due as had heartbreak every month doing early tests for nearly a year!

Really heartening to hear that it could be a good sign rather than a bad one!

Happy to say that I am currently lying next to the outcome of this thread and she is the best baby ever - she's a few months old now, super smiley and sleeping through. Will always be so grateful for all the support I got on Mumsnet when TTC.

The digital smiley ovulation tests and SMEP seemed to crack it for us after over a year of trying, but it's of course hard to know what is just luck.

How are you doing? If you are still TTC I really hope you get good news soon
