Hey ladies,

Thought I would create a thread for those testing towards the end of Nov/early December.

I'm CD2, TTC first baby. On cycle 5.

fingers crossed for us all!

@Roxybabe I wouldn't be too worried about your husband going away, there'll still be sperm hanging around if you peak when he's away!

It's difficult trying to fit TTC around the rest of life isn't it?

I've FINALLY gotten a progesterone blood test out of the NHS as I'm worried it's low. I'm getting big ovulation signs though so🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

Phyrefly · 10/11/2022 21:50

So Fertility Friend told me yesterday to test but I resisted. And today still no period, so I thought 'just test' and if it is negative I will know my period is on the way, you know, trying not to get my hopes up. So I fish a pregnancy test from the back of my undies drawer and padded off to the toilet. Not for one moment did I think it was odd that the window of the test was a bit yellow, nor the test line was already visible nor that the test was unwrapped. It took me several more minutes after I pee on it to realise what I am sure you all have already worked out. I used a used HPT this morning!!!!

But the nuttiest thing, on review of the test, I think I can see a partial pink line. Is it possible I turned an old BFN into a tiny wee new positive.
The good new is I do have a unopened, unused test to use tomorrow morning.

@TickingTui I’m 5dpo! I’ve had so much on it hasn’t dragged yet really. I was planning to wait til Wednesday for a definite answer on a test but il no doubt waste some first responses on Monday and Tuesday like they’re free 🙈how are you feeling?

BCxx · 10/11/2022 23:33

Got a smear test letter in today and of course can’t get it done if you’re pregnant.. I opened it like 🤔 of all the times to arrive, when I’m in this limbo of not knowing if I am or not. If not I’m going to have to get an appointment booked asap before I’m back in next month’s limbo again

Roxybabe · 10/11/2022 23:42

@Phyrefly I have no idea! I wouldn’t have thought it would still be valid but who knows! I would just retest with a fresh one!

@BCxx I just had my smear, best to get it done before you fall! I think it’ll be safe to get it in the TWW if you can.

Knov20 · 11/11/2022 04:02

Hi @TickingTui I'm currently 1dpo. It's going to feel like a long wait!!!

Knov20 · 11/11/2022 04:04

@Phyrefly oh how strange but hope you get bfp this morning!!!

BCxx · 11/11/2022 06:37

@Roxybabe do you think? I suppose I could phone and tell them or just wait until Wednesday to see. I don’t want to leave it another year

Laul89 · 11/11/2022 08:02

@TickingTui I think I’m around 6dpo but I can’t be fully sure.. this is just going off my app! 🙈 desperate to test but holding out as long as I can 😬

Roxybabe · 11/11/2022 09:41

@BCxx I was in the same predicament in my last tww, and I’m sure I googled it and read somewhere that it was ok! But I still didn’t want to just incase! So I ended up booking one for last week, when my period ended! I guess only positive of no bfp last month!

Hi everyone! Long time reader, first time posting 😏

I'm TTC for my first baby (hopefully!). On my 4th cycle, no BFP as of yet but I should be able to test tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

Soda123x · 11/11/2022 13:54

Hi all please can I join.
This is my first cycle of trying for #2
Im 5 DPO (according to an app - I'm hoping it is quite accurate as been inputting the info for about 3 years now) I don't use ovulation tests etc ....
No pressure yet, as it took 6 months to conceive #1.
🤞 for everyone xx

BCxx · 11/11/2022 17:25

@Roxybabe will arrange it for after AF (if I’m unlucky again). Suppose even if I wasn’t pregnant now, by the time I get the results I could be 🤔

Roxybabe · 11/11/2022 17:47

@BCxx that is also true! I guess the most sensible plan would be to wait for your results before trying again. But I imagine there are plenty of women who fall pregnant and are due or overdue their smear! Maybe speak to your GP!

What I’d (stupidly) hoped was implantation spotting turned into my period arriving early so I’m here for cycle 4. Currently cd7.

good luck everyone

SoThisIsMyNameNow · 11/11/2022 18:48

Hi everyone. I'm just wondering have any of you ever had no flashing smiley faces, and then just receive a static smiley face for 12 hours.. I have looked up lots online but I am struggling to understand why I didn't receive a flashing smiley face first. Anyone any insights?

BCxx · 11/11/2022 20:01

@SoThisIsMyNameNow it’s all very confusing I think, it could just be an error but I think the whole thing is based on their comparison of one day to the next so if you do the first one too early or too late it can mess up all of the results. I liked to do the cheap tests alongside it for that reason. Could you have been dehydrated when you got the static smiley so it’s gone straight to static?

GemLou88 · 11/11/2022 23:40

Hi all,
Can I join you please?

I'm ttc baby 2. We had a MMC before my DS. I don't know if I'll be in with a chance this month or not. I stopped taking the pill towards the end of last month, no withdrawal bleed or AF since. I started the OPK's a week ago and I'm not sure if I got a peak test on Wednesday (I'll add the photo if anyone can tell me), but I've bought some clear blue OPKs to try too.

Wishing you all lots of luck x

Negative pregnancy test for me this morning 😓Feeling quite down about it. Does anyone have any tips for cheering yourself up after a negative test? I feel like all I see on TV and social media is babies etc so I can’t get it off my mind

It's upsetting isn't it 😕 and is not what you wanted to see bfn, is it the right time or still a little early to rule out completely?.

I usually think about what things I could plan for the next few days and weeks that I wouldnt be able to do if pregnant, and that helps a little. 😊Eg, going for a quick swim, ((in better weather) enjoy a glass over dinner 🍷, doing a run etc.

The good thing is your af might be around the corner and it's a new month to try soon 🤗 feel better soon! X

I’m sorry about your negative. For me, I try to really really appreciate the things that I couldn’t do when pregnant/when you have a baby. It’s our first, so stuff like having a long lie, going to the pub, watching Netflix all day - I’m just trying to savour these things! I think it’s also nice to plan a treat with your other half if you can, like a date night or something. Time moves so slowly when TTC doesn’t it!

Roxybabe · 12/11/2022 13:16

@ERsunnyside ahh sorry for BFN, could it be too early still.

I find coming off of social media helps, delete all the apps until you are feeling better as it’s just babies and pregnancy announcements!! I clean my house, buy some fresh flowers, put on a film, get a bottle of wine and make or order your favourite dinner, have a nice hot bath and know that there is always the next cycle.

I also like to remind myself of the stats, only a 25-30% chance of conceiving each month. But 80-90% fall within one year!! Just got to try and stay positive!

BCxx · 12/11/2022 13:31

@ERsunnyside I think the hardest day of the whole thing is either when you’ve had a negative test by 12/13dpo and you know you’re out or if AF arrives unexpectedly early like me the last two cycles. I think that whole first week and a bit is the hardest. It’s like a mountain to climb every cycle, once you’re back at the ‘trying’ part again it feels fine because you’re actually doing something about it then you’re back in the tww again so you start getting ahead of yourself (if you’re anything like me) then by the time AF arrives you’re utterly shocked at how you can physically not be pregnant! As others have said the odds are actually really low each month sadly 🙄 I’m now getting to the stage of thinking ‘if I’d got pregnant the first month I’d be having my 12 week scan by now’ etc. It feels like so much longer you have to hold it all in when you such a wait before even getting pregnant and other people seem to fall first try.

This month I’m kind of trying to focus on at least I won’t need to lie my way out of drinking over the next month. I’m not sure how hard we’ll try in December though, I need to work out the timings of it all but i won’t be able to stop completely for a month so we’ll probably still attempt it!

Have a drink, a hot bath, go a run, go to a spa and go in the hot tub, eat all the cheese etc.. all of the things you might not be able to do for long 😂

Massi2022 · 12/11/2022 14:59

We just got our bfp after 2 years of ttc! The only thing we did different was ignore my ovulation dates and DTD every second day for the whole month straight. Good luck and positive baby energy to everyone 🙏❤️

Massi2022 · 12/11/2022 15:13

@BCxx i would 100% agree about the AF week being the hardest. Some months I would get spotting which I knew was AF arriving and I would actually just cry with frustration as it can be bloody soul destroying!! particularly if you have been symptom spotting and think this is the month. Honestly think the challenges of TTC must set you up for parenting as it can drive you mental !! Then my MIL makes comments about when she is getting grandkids!!
