Anyone else TTC from November!?

peaky297 · 02/11/2022 11:21

Hi Ladies. I did this when TTC with my first and found it to be a huge help and support.

Anyone else who is looking to conceive is welcome to join and share their journey with like-minded ladies!

So I'll kick off - I am fortunate to already have a beautiful DD who is now approaching 3 years old and we are now ready to start trying for a second. Last period was mid October, so heading into my first fertile window! I have ovulation pain now, so it's imminent I think! (Anyone else have this by the way? - mine bloody hurts! 🙈)

Look forward to meeting Anyone who replies!

K xxx

@peaky297 hiya, I'm on my second cycle TTC my first. I'm in my fertile week according to my app. Came off the pill in June after having loads of issues with it and had a few months of being careful before properly trying last month.

I still haven't pin pointed any of my symptoms for O or AF as they are so different every month

peaky297 · 02/11/2022 12:43

Hi! I felt the same my first time around after being on the pill for years - the tracking apps are really helpful for knowing what to look for!

First time around took us 3 months, so hopefully will be as quick for you too 🤞 xx

Hey, I'm also on my 2nd cycle, TTC baby no.1 😊

Ally345 · 02/11/2022 13:22

Also starting. During the 2 week currently wait after first attempt. Baby no 1. too :)

TobySpaniel · 02/11/2022 13:42

I came off the pill yesterday! Planning on being careful for the next month or so then properly TTC in December for DC2. I have a 1 year old DC.
Got my OPKs ready to go! Feeling excited 😆

peaky297 · 02/11/2022 14:09

Hi everyone!
It's such a nerve wracking but exciting time isn't it, especially for those of you trying for the first time ❤️
Also got some OPKs arriving tomorrow - they 100% helped the first time around! Let's hope we see home BFPs in here before the year is out 🤞 x

Hello!
currently trying to conceive baby no2, properly since September. Haven’t been looking into it too much, just been going by my period app. we’ve just been having sex when we want to! First month ttc, we were doing it as much as possible over the whole cycle. no luck. October’s cycle we thought we’d relax, and not feel obliged to ‘do it’ all the time (partner works away in weekdays but is local sometimes) we only did it about 5 times, compared to 9 in Septembers.
I know numbers don’t matter, but luckily Octobers was also just before and after the fertile period. No luck again, as I’m now on the start of my cycle 3, as period arrived a few days ago. I know it doesn’t always happen straight away, but of course it’s disheartening. maybe I should start temping or using opks in case I’m missing my ovulation entirely?
also, I used to get a lot of EWCM in previous months before ttc, that I noticed. I haven’t had any the past few months. How do I know if I’m even ovulating?! I know the opks won’t predict if I’m actually ovulating, just that I’m leading up to it.

hoping cycle 3 is the one for me 🤞🏼

BCxx · 03/11/2022 11:20

Same here, little one is a year and a half but now feeling ready. Have tried for two cycles so far. Apparently 20% of people get that pain, I don’t think I do but every little twinge you assume must be it 😂 should be nearing my fertile days this weekend I think

babybrainfart · 03/11/2022 11:50

Hi, I have two children 11 and 7 and have been with my partner 6 years. We have decided to TTC our first baby together (his first). I'm 33 and this is our first cycle. I am 4 DPO and so so nervous, but excited.

peaky297 · 04/11/2022 20:38

@Elephantrose18 I know from my first time around it can feel disheartening quite quickly - I think only took 3 cycles but it felt like forever. I think it's because we are brought up as teenagers to believe you have sex unprotected you WILL get pregnant immediately 🤣
OPKs might be a shout though, they are fairly cheap on amazon and will help to give you a steer as I think the tracking apps aren't always particularly accurate.

Other new joiners - welcome! 😁

3rd cycle here! 5dpo now ttc baby no1! TWW is going painfully slow but I’m excited to get to 10 dpo to start testing!! Sore breast and mild cramping but at this stage is probably from hormones 😔

SkyBlue20 · 08/11/2022 00:05

👋🏼 Hello! Was meant to be starting TTC from next month but got a bit carried away yesterday, which I think (based on CM) also happened to be the day I ovulated, so I guess we’re TTC now (also DTD today, just for good measure)! 😂🙈

We have an almost 20-month-old and the time is right for us to start trying in terms of where we’re at with life and jobs, etc and the kind of age gap we would hope for.

We had one MMC before I got pregnant with our daughter but both times we were extremely fortunate to conceive first month of trying. Hopeful for similar now but also very aware it could go very differently. I’m really fearful of another loss, it was so hard.

Got my fingers crossed for us all! 🤞🏼

Yes. My BIL had one unprotected sex with his GF and bam, she got pregnant. It always makes me think, how on earth you can have sex many times before and during ovulation and not get pregnant, while others are successful after one time, often unplanned🤔

I'm 5DPO and no positive or negative feelings. We shall see. It's my 2nd cycle, but first proper one, as I think we missed the window last month. I decided I will carry on with my life, as 2WW can be very draining. I did it last month and it honestly felt like putting life on hold.

peaky297 · 12/11/2022 10:26

Took this this morning after feeling a bit nauseous / tired yesterday. Not sure if positive or an evap line as it took a while to come up ... thoughts please 🙈🤣

Update : took a first response test yesterday evening and this morning and both were negative, so it must have been an evap on the clear blue! Disappointed, but onwards we go!

OP posts:
BCxx · 13/11/2022 12:43

@peaky297 oh no! Not necessarily though, it could be the difference in how long you’d waited to go for a wee or how much you’d drank

peaky297 · 14/11/2022 22:02

@BCxx done a couple more and sadly nothing so think the clear blue test did me dirty 🙈😆
Nevermind - still in the TWW so will have to wait and see whilst trying not to over think every potential sign of pregnancy!
How's everyone else getting on?

OP posts:
Beepops22 · 14/11/2022 22:11

@peaky297 gutted for you but at least there's still hope until AF arrives.
I had to take a test yesterday at 10dpo as I needed an x-ray on my ankle, it was negative but holding out some hope.
Had that crampy feeling all day today as if AF was on her way but she's not due until Friday so planning on testing again over the weekend if she doesn't arrive.
Fingers crossed for us all x

peaky297 · 14/11/2022 22:28

@Beepops22 that sounds promising 🤞 keep us posted - sending lots.of luck!
I'm over analysing everything at the moment 🙈😆 wish I could just chill out!

Ally345 · 15/11/2022 10:56

Also had a negative last week. Have to say felt sadder than expected, even though of course realise it was unlikely to happen in the first attempted cycle, but think your mind can't help but spiral as to what may or may not be ahead. Definitely a mental battle.
Back to trying this weekend.

angycandle · 21/11/2022 17:15

Hello all, we are trying for our second one as well. We have a wonderful 22 months old daughter and we are at cycle 10 now. Had a miscarriage just soon after trying for n.2 and now really looking forward for another BFP (which is not coming!!!!!). Fingers crossed and hope we all receive a very nice xmas present this year

peaky297 · 21/11/2022 17:53

@angycandle so sorry to hear about your loss. Let's hope this is our month!

How is everyone else getting on? AF due tomorrow, but no sign so far. Very tired and headaches, but without my usual PMS rage. I'd feel more optimistic if I hadn't had yet another BFN this morning on a FRER this morning 🙈(anyone else already spent a fortune on tests!?
Onwards we go - good luck to all x

OP posts:
angycandle · 22/11/2022 18:02

@peaky297 how are you today? just to answer your question, I spent a fortune on tests, supplements, etc. Also, I'm trying to restrict my diet to avoid coffee, sugar intakes, wine, make-up (to avoid chemicals going through my skin), polish nail, etc...
As I write this, I realise I am taking this to the extreme but (i) that is what I did the first time around and worked (ii) I really want to maximise my chances. I'm looking forward to this part of my life to be over so I can start enjoy again the little things and, more importantly, I can stop worry about my DD being alone if something happens to my DH or myself...

TobySpaniel · 22/11/2022 18:07

On day 22 here after stopping the mini pill on the 1st. Still waiting for AF and not even had a slightly positive ovulation test so far! Feeling really weird and crampy and getting EWCM so hopefully will have a positive OPK test soon and feel like somethings happening to progress TTC
