Potential Chemical?

Hi, I’m 17dpo based on opks and 4 days after missed period. I tested this morning for the first time and have a faint line but I’m worried it could be a chemical pregnancy. I had a chemical earlier this year with similarly faint lines. Wondering if it’s normal for a test to be faint at this stage of pregnancy or should I prepare for the worst? My first pregnancy was much darker lines, granted I didn’t test until a week after my missed AF. I’ve attached this morning’s test.

I would normally expect the line to be darker considering your dates however I have read that implantation can take place as late as 12DPO.

As this is the first test you've taken it's hard to know when you might have implanted but if I were you I'd test again tomorrow to see if the line is getting darker or lighter x

I would also say that I'm not sure how sensitive the test you've taken is! FRERs get very dark quite quickly because of how sensitive they are but I also used some IC cheapies which were 25mui and they took much longer to get dark lines on!

Thank you @NalaNana i guess it’s just a waiting game. Will test again over coming days and hopefully the line progresses but I’m not holding my breath due to past losses including a chemical earlier this year and an miscarriage around 8 weeks last year

It’s hard to say from just one test. Take another in 48 hours and see if it’s darker. I’ve just had a chemical pregnancy/ early miscarriage and my line 48 hours later was the same then 48 hours after that was lighter so I I knew it was going to happen. I didn’t test until after AF was due either.

Hi @allgoodthings84 I’m very sorry for your loss. As mentioned earlier, I had a chemical in May hence my nervousness this time with the faint result. I’ll just keep testing every couple of days or so and hope for some progression. Good luck with your journey and hope you get your rainbow baby soon x

I’m 17dpo today and this was my cheapy test yest at 16dpo. I have had 2 chemicals in the past 3 months and this is third time lucky fingers crossed. Have you done a first response? My lines were light on these strip ones until yesterday and it turned dark. Are you certain of your dates? X

@bubble55 I have been using opks so I’m pretty certain of my dates. Yours looks much darker than mine. I’ve bought some first response tests so will try one of those tomorrow morning. This would be my third time lucky too if It sticks otherwise I’ll have to kick off investigations for recurrent miscarriage. Hope we both have better luck this time.

I’d try a first response tomorrow as like I say mine on the strips weren’t overly dark until a day ago so a lot can change in a day x

Hi all so just an update, did a first response test this morning and it looks much more like a BFP :) Hope this one sticks!
