Does anyone know what implantation bleeding is like?

I had brown spotting on day 22 (dpo 10) and then nothing for a day or two and then some brown spots again today - could it be implantation bleeding?

I have no idea what implantation bleeding looks like - various websites say it is either brown or pink - but I wonder if anyone has any real info from experience.

Please be honest as don't want to get my hopes up.

Thank you

I had implantation bleeding and, yes, it is usually brown because it comes out some time after the bleeding actually occurred. Old blood is usually brown. It means you are probably not bleeding right now. If it starts turning red then I would worry. Either way, I think you should go see your doctor and ask to have a scan. It is pretty standard.

The pregnancy where I had brown spotting went to term. A few years later I had a miscarriage however which started with brown spotting, so you really can't know for sure. In that case though the bleeding eventually increased and started turning red. If I were you I wouldn't wait until my 12 week scan though to find out what is going on.
