Different ovulation brands showing different results?

First time TTC and trying to figure out my cycle pattern with ovulation LH strips.
I had a pretty dark line this morning on one brand but a second brand had a really faint line from the same urine sample.
I don't know if I should be listening to the brand that suggests ovulation or not. Has anyone had this and it turned out they were actually ovulating?
Thank you

That's a tough one. I've only ever really used the CB Digital Ovulation Kit and I feel really confident it's accurate but I bought the One Step strips and just never felt clear or sure what the result was or if it was accurate. I would just use another one of each tomorrow and compare.

I have tried the digital ovulation kit with the smiley face and strip tests. The month I got pregnant it was using the strips and I have since decided I don’t like the clear blue digital.

If you have used the digital one and a strip at the same time they will differ I result. The digital gives you four best days so it picks up a smaller amount before eventually telling you when you peaked. So on a strip test it might be light but the digital might be picking up on the lower level of LH???

i didn’t like the digital because for me I found that it was getting the static smiley but wouldn’t actually ovulate until three days later. They do say that you will ovulate 12-36 hours afterwards but I def think some months I have gone longer than that. In September I got the static on a Monday and then Friday I just checked with a strip and it was blazing positive. So I’ve now decided to use the easy@home strips and the Premom app. I think I can trust my own eyes when I see the dark test line.

it’s all down to personal preference. Maybe use one brand , get used to it and on days when it’s darker test more than once a day

x

This is really helpful both, thank you.

I think I'm going to get a few digital and also some easy@home for next month.

I did scan the 'positive' test on the premom app and it was a reading of over 1 and 'high'. So I guess I'll remain hopeful for this month and get prepared for next month if it didn't work :)

I used clear blue and also easy@home the first month. I also measured bbt. Easy@home had a peak one day, the clear blue had flashing. Then the next morning my temp had risen (which signalled ovulation had occurred) and that’s the day clear blue had a static. Which was too late.

I gave up with clear blue and continued with easy@home and bbt. It worked well, I would have the peak and then usually two days later see the temp rise. I conceived on the third cycle. It’s lucky I was using opk, the cycle I concieved I ovulated 5 days later than my typical cycle. I was almost giving up dtd by that point.

@Blue2020 this is what I didn’t trust about the clear blue digital . At least with the strips your seeing a chemical reaction, it gets darker based on the amount of hormone.

Doing BBT alongside is a good way to double check. This month the easy at home peaked one day and then the day later my temp peaked so it was perfect and as accurate as I think I’m going to get.

Gosh it's all so confusing isn't it!
I've got rid of the strip tests that never show a positive and have ordered some easy@home and also some digital to use alongside each other.
I think it sounds like temping is also the way forward so I'm going to look into that too. I've only held off so long as im a shift worker and my sleep pattern is all over the place!

@TTC53 i know I never sleep well or even wake at the same time so I’m sure mine isn’t as accurate as it could be but even if it gives me a vague idea of where my temps are at throughout the cycle I can correlate this to the test. The Premom app and easy@home with temping is a good way to track though x
