Hi,
we have our first nhs fertility appointment on 17th November.
TTC for 13 months now.
Im just wondering if anyone else has gone down this route and is happy to share what I should expect?

Your first consultation should be the basics , they will take your weight and ask some questions. you'll be asked to do blood tests , and you should have a scan of ovaries , womb ect. he will be advised to do a semen test so they can identify any possible cause of infertility.
These seem to be the standard tests however my experience with nhs has been somewhat different

Honestly - don’t expect much! As PP has said, they’ll go over the basics and run standard tests. Expect to have large gaps between appointments and a lack of personalised care. Dependent on what they find, it might be worth checking out private providers at the same time.

Agree with both the previous replies.
Long waits in between appointments. I waited 10 months from the initial consultation to starting ivf.
It was all a bit of a disaster and ended up going private 6 months after that failed round.
I think sometimes it may depend on your area. I am based in East London and my clinic was over stretched.
