Faint positive 16dpo when will bleeding start?

I got a faint bfp the other day at 12dpo then darker one at 14dpo but this mornings one at 16dpo was much fainter than the 12dpo one so know I’m going to be losing it. I’m absolutely devastated. It took 5 cycles to conceive and we are back to square one 😢. I’m also scared of how heavy/painful it might be.

I know it won’t be an exact science and everyone is different but can anyone tell me how long it may be until I start bleeding?

Top one is 14dpo and bottom is today at 16dpo so definitely fainter when it should have gotten darker

I’m not an expert and don’t want to give you false hope, but is there any chance there could be any other reason it’s fainter? Different brand, different time of day, more diluted etc.
if it is the news you’re expecting, I’m so sorry 💐

@allgoodthings84 maybe take another test this evening on a few hours hold?

I weirdly found that my FMU was weaker than evening urine, and this made me think I was having a CP! I'm attaching my tests at 11DPO and 13DPO taken both in the morning and evening. The other pic is just the evening tests at 11 13 and 15 DPO. There are lots of others that have experienced it, apparently it can be down to how you metabolise HCG.

If it is bad news I'm afraid I can't offer much advice as my previous loss was later on but I don't think it will be super heavy. I was always told not to use tampons and use pads instead x

😢 I really hope it’s not, it is a bit fainter but as pp has said there could be another reason for that. Could you get some more tests to do early tomorrow? I think from what I’ve heard from other people bleeding sometimes starts before they’ve even noticed it go lighter

justanotherlaura · 15/10/2022 17:31

I wouldn't say it's definitely a chemical pregnancy yet but just wanted to let you know that if it is it will most probably be like a bit heavier than usual period so try not to worry about that aspect. Thinking positive thoughts for you!

This happened to me about a year ago, my tests got lighter and clearblue digital tests dropped from 2-3 weeks to 1-2 weeks so I knew my hcg was decreasing. If this is what's happening to you, I'm so sorry OP. As others have said, is it possible that the result was due to you testing at a different time or day or being more hydrated?

For me the bleeding started 3 days after I got the 1-2 week result and was just like a slightly heavier period and lasted about the same length of time.

Thanks for all your support ladies. They were both FMU on boots tests. I did a frer yesterday evening at 6.30pm so I’ll take my 2nd one of these tomorrow at the same time and try to have the same amount of hold. I’m not holding out much hope though

Keeping fingers crossed for you op ❤️

Pregnancy tests give positive or negative results. You’re not more or less pregnant depending on how strong or faint the line is. I agree with PP, there are any number of reasons for a fainter line. But I wouldn’t lose all hope yet.

allgoodthings84 · 16/10/2022 18:50

Thank you everyone 😊

it’s not a sticky one unfortunately. I’ve just had a negative frer after a 4 hour hold. I’m devastated 😢 took us 5 cycles to get here and I know it’s not long in the scheme of things but feeling like having to go all over again is hard. We want it so badly.

I'm so sorry x
TTC is such an emotional rollercoaster

Sparklythings1 · 17/10/2022 07:30

Aww no that’s a shame, so sorry 😞 I think it only seems not long after it looking back, when you’re in it it takes over everything you think about and drags by so slowly ☹️ Hope next cycle is your lucky one
