TWW/positive ovulation!

DP and I are on a long TTC journey, it now being 3 years since I stopped contraception. I've struggled with extremely irregular and long cycles, but the past few months I've managed to even out at a regular 35 days.

Today I got my first proper, clear positive ovulation test! There's not really much point to this thread other than to share my joy (we've not really shared our TTC journey in real life much) with others who get it. It just feels like such a positive step and it's given me a blob of hope, one which I've really needed recently to be honest.

Anyone else about who are also knee-deep in unsuccessful cycles? Or now entering the dreaded TWW! Would love to be able to chat to those who understand

I'm coming to end of my TWW unfortunately so I can't sit this one out with you. Unless I just join in as a general trying to conceive this month again thread ?? I also think I haven't been successful this time round but I have a new strategy for next month so looking forward to trying again. I've been using the clearblue digital ovulation tests and I think we have been too focused on the days before ovulation. I've only just realized that the static smiley means that ovulation is imminent (12-36 hours after) so if I am ovulating 36 hours after I'm probably not DTD on the right days. I'm quite annoyed because this last two months my body has shown me when I've been ovulating and I've ignored it. I'm secretly gutted that I'm out this month because me and my partner have bdays the day after each other and had I conceived this month my due date would have been around our bdays. The calculators was actually giving me my bday! BUT onwards and upward , when it's meant to happen it will happen I expect

Hi! Just got my positive open today. I'm following the SMEP method, so we dtd last night, will go again tonight, tomorrow, then skip a night and do one more before calling it quits for another month. First month trying this method 😅

That's a shame about your bday dates but you never know. I read it was more important to dtd before ovulation so the sperm is waiting? But I've read a lot haha

Sorry @timotam for some reason it didn't show me your post earlier. That's great news about your cycles and first positive ovulation. Do you test temp as well? Just got my positive opk today so will be following along with you 🤞🏻

@Saribon thank you! Yes please do join, it'll be lovely to just have someone to chat to about it. I've just been using the cheap ovulation tests but have been thinking of using the digital ones as it obviously gives a more definite answer, but they're expensive aren't they! TTC is expensive what with all the tests 😅 remember though that sperm can live for 5 days after DTD so still a possibility to get pregnant even if it's a couple of days before you actually ovulate. I have my fingers crossed for you x

@pomdownunder1 oh good news of your ovulation! Busy next few days for you then 😅 I don't currently temp check, I did try in a previous cycle but found I kept forgetting to do it as soon as I woke up so wasn't getting a really accurate result! Is that how you check?

@timotam Thank you I will hang around 😀 AF started this morning so I'm starting all over again.

I actually think I'm going to proceed with the basic strip tests and the premom app. The one time I got pregnant was the month I was using those tests and the app. I'm thinking of buying a fertilly cup and doing my temp this month too.....whilst also trying not to symptom spot and stress (never going to happen)

I usually ovulate around CD10 so won't be long behind you. Good luck this cycle xx

@pomdownunder1 I heard the earlier days were more important too. Ideally I'd just DTD every day through out the whole two weeks window but its just takes all the fun out of it doesn't it and just feels forced

Also I've started a TTC book because my phone broke last month and I can't login into my original flo or premom and I was fuming lol!

@timotam no I don't do temp checks but thinking I will start doing it. Just do opk. How is everyone feeling?

The TWW is the worst isn't it, I'm literally 4dpo and I'm imagining I've got all these symptoms 🙈 I've been feeling really bloated and have been getting cramps low down, but I know deep down it's probably not a sign of anything just my mind looking for symptoms lol. How are you two doing?

How's everyone getting on? I'm 7dpo. No symptoms, have a bad cold though and stuffed nose. Hoping it hasn't ruined my chances this month!

I updated on a different thread, but yesterday (10dpo) I got what looks like a bit of a shadow. Not getting my hopes up though, have ordered FRER and they're coming tomorrow so will see then. Have few symptoms, but I also have bad stomach cramps like AF is going to come any minute

@pomdownunder1 I have read that a stuffed nose can sometimes be an early symptom though, so who knows may be linked!
