Ovulation help, when did I ovulate?

my cycle ranges 26-29 days every month, I’ve been testing for ovulation everyday since the end of my period. I tested positive for ovulation (high fertility/flashing smiley) on Tuesday/Wednesday which would be day 13/14, then on Thursday (yesterday) I got peak, static smiley face and also HIGH on my east at home LH strips. I’ve tested again today and I’ve got a static smiley again, but is a bit lower on the easy at home strips.

my question is, when have I ovulated? Would it mean I’m ovulating today? Sorry bit useless with it all! My apps say my period is due the 10th October, which would mean I only have a phase of around 10 days since getting my first peak which seems really short? As aren’t you meant to wait around 14 days to test for pregnancy? Sorry if someone could help me understand?

@Babydust2222 in general you would ovulate 12-36 hours after the first positive test. It doesn’t guarantee ovulation it’s measuring the rise of LH which triggers ovulation.

if your cycles vary from 26-29 days ignore when the apps tell you your period is due to start. Mine varies from 24-27 days and it’s usually wrong as the app doesn’t know each month how many days your cycle is going to be it’s just using the average each time. Your Luteal Phase will always be the same so it could be that this is a 29 day cycle for you which would mean your LP is 13 days (from the days you gave above). 10 day LP would be if this cycle is 26 days.

Best thing would be see what day your period starts this cycle then work out what your LP was. As your LP is always the same you will be able to predict your period due date yourself once you get a positive OPK. This is what I do as mine varies by the same amount of days as yours

@allgoodthings84 this makes complete sense! Over the last 6 months they’ve mainly been around 27-28 day cycles but because my ovulation is now day 15-16 I’ve been panicking thinking my luteal phase is short as usually when the app says I’ll come on I’m usually on every single time!

so hopefully this month I don’t come on until a bit later so it syncs up right!

BBT is a good indicator of ovulation, too. It dips just before ovulation and rises back up again the day after. Do you get breast soreness around the time of ovulation? The soreness is caused by progesterone which is released by the corpus luteum (the spent ovum from which the egg released from).
