Copper coil and out of sync

Hi I'm new on here,
I've just had a copper coil removed (3weeks ago at the end of this week). I had a light bleed after the removal but I've had nothing since I'm very regular always have been and I'm technically a week later it's almost as if my body has forgotten to bleed. Has anyone else experienced this after removing the copper coil and if so when did you get back to normal??
I've booked a gp appointment for next week because of it, I keep getting mild cramping and my boobs are really sore but nothing is happening and lots of negative tests it's just really annoying I just want a period so I can start over and track my cycles
TA x

I had my copper coil removed in July and AF was then late coming on when I'm usually as regular as clockwork. It was also really light and over in a couple of days. I was a bit worried as I'd has the coil removed to TTC but I conceived that cycle so seem to have returned to normal pretty quickly.

That's reassuring I've read some horror stories online about how the copper coil has changed women's cycles and how irregular they are, even going as far as women being peri menopausal from it!! Yet all the reliable websites say you go back to normal immediately. How late was your first period?? It's almost as if my body has decided to skip it and gone right in to a new cycle. I'm temping and doing opks so fingers crossed 🙏🏻

@rix3 think about 3/4 days late so not loads but unusually late for me. I came across those posts as well but there are lots that said fertility returned to normal straight away so tried to focus on those. Our bodies can do some strange things and I think it can be worse when we're watching it so closely.

Tried for third baby...Regular as clockwork with coil in 29/30 day cycle
was in nearly five years.

had it out... had a period just before and then waited 56 days for another oeriod
i was so cross
all symptoms felt rubbish -- all bfn
then day 56 finally had a period
and got pregnant that cycle
not all bad just obviously interupted my cycles having it out

my second baby had coil out and dint have a period got pregnant straight away
so not all bad stories

Thanks for the response. I finally got my period today 39 days, longest cycle I've ever had but I'm so glad it's here it was like my body was playing a cruel trick on me.
Can actually start to ttc now and hopefully know where I'm at!! Fingers crossed for a positive in October!!!! Hopefully my periods just return to normal if it doesn't happen this cycle x

Interesting this has happened to you. I also had my copper coil out this month and now period is 4 days late but had two negative tests and conception seems unlikely as removal should have been after ovulation (although didn't track). Hopefully things will be back to normal soon so I can get on with trying!
