Confused about ovulation...

So TTC...AF has arrived again! Feeling 😞
We have been TTC for around 4 months.

We are trying to relax and I'm using an app to help keep track and also OPKs.
This month OPK was negative day 10 and a positive day 12...

Attached is how much we DTD. I was told to DTD before ovulation...
I don't know if next cycle I should DTD as soon as I get a positive as you can see we didn't!
Is that where I'm going wrong?
Any advice appreciated.

Definitely increase dtd on your fertile week. Your Opk picks up your lh surge and ovulation can happen anytime in the next 24-36hr period so ideally you want to be doing it before you ovulate, on the day you get a positive Opk and the day after for luck. Or if you want to go the relaxed route just dtd every other day for the whole cycle.

Just wanted to ask what method of contraception you used before if you did at all. It took a fair few months after coming off the pill for us to get pregnant even though on paper we were doing everything we should.

To keep it relaxed, maybe don't tell your dp when you're ovulating and just casually instigate sex. Nothing worse than timed intimacy.

Nhs website doesn't suggest everyday. It says every 2-3 days during your cycle. If possible and it feels right for you both, perhaps just keep it going during the week of ovulation.

Wishing you the best of luck but remember, some contraceptive methods take time to settle. Good luck!

Thanks for all the replies.
Going to try and keep it going after ovulation or when OPKs says it's positive.
Just feel like I'm missing the mark and not always possible to DTD every other day!
Also I feel DH is finding it a bit "scheduled " 🤦🏻‍♀️

OP

Have you heard of 'the Billings method"? It involves looking at cervical mucus to avoid pregnancy, but if you do it in reverse you find when you are fertile.

It helped one of my friends get pregnant.

@sashh thanks I havent heard of that method.
Aware of cervical mucus but what I consider egg white could just be under the wet and sticky , sorry if that's too much info!

had egg white this time round and pregnant first cycle.
good luck youll get there

DTD every other day during your fertile week. And I’d ditch the OPKs and try temping. Gives you much more of a sense of control and insight.

Best of luck.

Yep you can't describe it without a certain amount of oversharing. I was taught about this at school believe it or not, but it was an RC girl' school.

I agree with PP with EWCM. Honestly keep checking because they first time it was egg white I was like “oh yeah, makes sense”.
I think you’re DTD enough to get pregnant in theory. But chances in any given month are 20%. Sex should be fun so not suggesting it becomes a chore. Easier said than done: but try to take it easy. It’s cycle 4.

Thanks all.
Does it matter if I have a 25 day cycle?
Seems a quick turn around of ovulation before next AF!
Cycles are pretty regular...
