Pre conception appointment

After a very rough birth last time I was offered/told that I would have a pre conception appointment. I was told then, 5 years ago, to ring the Consultants office directly to make the appointment. I have made a GP's appointment but they are still only offering telephone appointments and not in person. They couldn't do any earlier than the 17th October then the wait for the Consultant.

I feel a bit rude saying I was told to go directly to the office without the gp 5 years ago. The Dr is still at the hospital in question and in the same role. He was the lead Consultant on the day I gave birth last time.

Do you have their secretary’s number? If so call them and enquire about the appointment. It’s not rude to relay information you were told. If things have changed since you were told that then they’ll tell you the new route to an appointment, and if it’s still the same then they’ll hopefully Be able to give you an appointment.
