Hey there! This is my first thread after a few years of scrolling mumsnet for advice and help.
A little background about me: I'm a female (26) and my husband (27) have been ttc since the start of last year. We got pregnant after 2 months of trying but sadly I had a miscarriage at 11 weeks in May 2021. We took a break from trying as we were both grieving terribly and I was diagnosed with PTSD from the miscarriage as it was treated extremely badly by the nhs, (I basically went through the whole thing on my own at home in extreme pain). I spoke to my GP and she highly recommended me to go on SSRI's to help with my panic attacks as they were constant every day for about 7 months. I was prescribed Escitalopram at 5mg daily, so a rather small dose. She encouraged me it wouldn't interfere with conception or the baby when I did conceive. I am now back to my old self after going through therapy and no longer suffer from panic attacks or anxiety. So my husband and I began trying 8 months ago and still have yet to get pregnant. The only thing that is different this time trying is that I have been on those tablets and have read a couple studies published that they may in fact decrease chances of conception both for male and female.
I came off the Escitalopram 2 weeks ago now and have noticed that my libido (tmi) has increased back to what it was before going on them and my opks are coming back this month much stronger.
I would love to know if anyone else has had any experience with SSRI's similar to mine during ttc?
Thank you so much
