If I am not getting EWCM does that mean that I am not ovulating?

I need your expert help! We have recently began to ttc a 2nd child. Our dd was conceived using depo' injections as I never got periods after coming off the pill and so never ovulated.

My periods have returned over the past 6 months and now seem to be pretty regular - 29/30 days. But I have been checking my cervical mucus over the past couple of cycles and I don't ever seem to get any that sounds like EWCM. Do you HAVE to get it to ovulate? Or is it possible to ovulate without this sign? I am now on day 17 and still no sign. Anyone any ideas?.....

I wouldn't really know, but bumping hoping an expert will be along for you soon! - only thing I could suggest would be could you buy one of the ovulation testing kits?

I didn't and I'm 13 weeks pregnant, still breastfeeding and haven't had a period since 2005. There is hope for you yet my dear

I didn't either and I'm 12 weeks today. Sometimes you can get it but it stays up there IYSWIM, so not enough comes out to be noticed on a tissue or knickers.

Have you seen this site? They have some basic OPK sticks that work out about 35p each (I'm eyeing up their cheap pregnancy tests as well - don't look as pretty as the clear blue ones, but if the nice plastic tube costs £9.00 then I'll live without!)

If you're getting ambiguous results from CM, have you considered using some of the other fertility awareness techniques? They might give you some back up info without costing too much.
