TTC and smear

I should be ovulatiing midweek, and I'm due a smear test on Thursday. I don't want to miss out on making love for a chance to conceive, but is it wrong to have sex the just before a smear? should I postpone the test?

So I was in the same boat as you recently and mentioned to the nurse I was ttc and she went ahead with the smear. I hadn’t realised you weren’t actually supposed to have sex up to 24 hours before the smear but I had. It can interfere with the results of your test I think but I recently got my results and my results were normal!

Personally, I wouldn't skip your smear. Your ovulation may not land exactly where you think and it is better to be safe before you fall pregnant.

Thanks both for the advice. I talked to a friend who's a nurse and she said although it's better not to have sex in the 24hrs before the test that many women don't realise and, as I'd told her I'm trying for a baby, she said not to worry. So probably will make love as normal.
