Is this a chemical?

I tested positive 2 days ago. Had line progression yesterday but today it’s much fainter on both frer and a cheaper one. I’m trying not to read too much into it but I’ve started getting mild cramps and I’m just wondering if it’s all over before it’s started. I know a line is a line etc but with my previous 2 children my lines always progressed daily. It was a bit of a shock to discover I was pregnant as I struggled to conceive number 2, but I feel so sad that it may come to nothing :(

I had the exact same a couple of months ago, posted on here saying basically the same and so many replied saying a line is a line, which I know is true and may well have been the case for some. I just had this feeling I couldn't shake and they carried on getting fainter the next few days. I really hope its not the case for you OP keeping everything crossed, there are so many things that can affect a test result in the early days so I hope for you it's just that and that you get a stronger result tomorrow ❤️

I had this with FRER yesterday and tested again in the afternoon on a four hour hold, the line was much darker. My urine must have been more diluted somehow in the morning. I've since decided to only test every 48 hours and hope for the best! X

Thanks for your messages. So sorry it happened to you @Endogal. I really think mine is heading the wrong way too, have just done another cheapie after 4 hour hold and barely anything there now.
Glad it all worked out for you @NalaNana wish you a healthy pregnancy x

I’m in the same position. I had positives on Wednesday and nothing since 😭 so I think must be a chemical 😭 still also not bleeding yet but can’t be far away

bubble55 · 25/09/2022 16:36

Do you have a photo of your tests? I’m the same. I had a lighter FRER yest but I did another this morning and it’s got darker today, although my cheapy is barely there. I’m so scared of going through another chemical.

Emmacb82 · 25/09/2022 17:00

Sorry to hear others are going through the same. I couldn’t do fmu today as did a night shift last night but my frer is super light again. Even with diluted urine there would have been some progression by now so I know the inevitable is going to happen. I just wish I would start bleeding and get it over with. Can’t stand the ongoing torture anymore 😢

I went through this last month. It was really confusing as sometimes the tests were lighter at at particular time of the day and then recovered and got darker again. I had false hope for several days but ended up doing a beta HCG blood test which showed the the levels were dropping and so that confirmed my concerns. My period came 5 days late. I’ll attach my line progression in case this is helpful to anyone. Wishing you all a better outcome!

@HJA87 sorry this happened to you. Did you lose your symptoms at any point? And were your lines faint or did they ever go quite dark?

NalaNana · 25/09/2022 19:00

@HJA87 thank you so much for posting.

I tested on:
11DPO morning
11DPO evening
13DPO morning
13DPO evening

And my results are attached in order. I have no idea what's going on, I spent today crying that it was all over. I'm going to call my GP tomorrow and at least log it, but I'll ask for bloods. I had an ectopic pregnancy in June so I'm wondering if that could be responsible for the weird tests?!

I'll keep you updated and hoping the best for everyone x

@bubble55 they never got very dark but I would say they definitely weren’t faint either towards the end

@bubble55 oh and I would say I didn’t really have many symptoms apart from a sensation of my uterus stretching. And that did stop in the last few days of that pregnancy I would say

HJA87 · 25/09/2022 19:56

@NalaNana your 13 DPO PM test looks really strong for 13 DPO so fingers crossed your AM one was just a fluke!

bubble55 · 25/09/2022 20:06

Thanks for replying @HJA87 my last chemical my symptoms just stopped but at the moment I’ve had strong symptoms for a week. My tests are worrying me and I’ve had a totally negative internet cheapy test today too so I’m in such a worry. I am so scared I’ll never carry another baby to full term and feel so useless.

NalaNana · 25/09/2022 20:13

@bubble55 my heart is with you ❤️

bubble55 · 25/09/2022 20:19

@NalaNana thank you. I have one last FRER to take which I’m going to wait until Tuesday for. I just think because the other has come back negative then surely my levels are too low? My first pregnancy I tested around 4-5 weeks and even the cheap tests were mega strong.

NalaNana · 25/09/2022 20:45

@bubble55 which IC was it? I've heard a lot about unreliable IC's at the moment!!!

I'm not going to test again until Tuesday too 💕 unless I can get bloods, then I'll just wait for the outcome of that x

bubble55 · 25/09/2022 20:48

@NalaNana amazon and also a wilko home pregnancy test 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’m ashamed of how much money I’ve spent on tests but I’m so paranoid. It took 9 days last time from testing to the start of my chemical and even though I have sore boobs now, I really think it’ll happen again.

baby dust to us all xx

HJA87 · 25/09/2022 22:03

@bubble55 I really sympathise wIth you as I’m in a similar boat:( In August I had a positive pregnancy test for a couple of days which then turned negative and my period pretty much started on time. I wasn’t too upset about that one as it happened so quickly. Then the next cycle I had another chemical/early MC (the one I mentioned on this thread) and I had 10 days of positive tests so was really upset when it ended. Like you, I worry about what this might mean but have spoken to a couple of doctors since and they’ve assured me that it’s most likely nothing to worry about and if anything, it’s encouraging that I’ve managed to conceive twice in a short period of time. As you may know, NHS won’t do any investigations until you’ve had 3 MCs. I’ve made an appointment with a recurrent miscarriage specialist privately as I want to run some basic blood tests for my piece of mind. I’m still TTCing in the meantime though and although I’m desperate for another BFP I’m dreading the anxiety that comes with it in the early days! I also have another child which I conceived and carried without any issues so this is all new to me!

Emmacb82 · 26/09/2022 12:59

Mine is definitely over. Started bleeding last night and lines all but disappeared. Feel so ridiculous feeling so upset over something I only had for 2 days. And am so lucky to have 2 boys already. I guess being 40 I thought I was more likely to become menopausal than pregnant so it was a nice surprise. Wishing everyone else love and luck x

bubble55 · 26/09/2022 13:09

@HJA87 that is exactly like me. I had no issues last time and never thought I’d be in this position. I spoke to my gp this morning who has sent me for bloods and if it is the worst case scenario, he will refer me on straight away for tests so I feel fortunate in that sense but I’m hoping it doesn’t come to that.

@Emmacb82 i am so sorry. Whether you knew for 2 hours or 2 days, it still hurts so much.

NalaNana · 26/09/2022 13:14

I'm so sorry @Emmacb82 💔 a loss is a loss no matter what, you are entitled to those feelings x
