Experience coming off the pill?

Looking to hear about other people's experiences since coming off the pill (combined pill, 21 days on, 7 days off).

I took my last pack end of April, since then had 28/27/26 day long cycles, all pretty predictable.

This month, I'm on day 34. Around day 20, I was feeling nauseous but other than that, been feeling pretty good. Past day or so, quite intense cramping just on one side and a tinged red tissue and brown dishcharge yesterday. The cramping on one side hasn't stopped but the small amount bleeding did.

Done 3 tests in the past week (Tuesday -day 29, Thursday - day 31 and today - day 34). All are negative.

I'm absolutely okay with the fact it could be negative. In fact, I'd prefer to get my period and just know where I'm at.

When I first came off the pill in 2018 for my first son, I never experienced anything like this so keen to hear from others.

Hey, can't really shed much light as I came off my pill and had 1 period then fell pregnant however have you been taking any new supplements or anything as I know these can lengthen your cycles xx

@Stephanie226 I started taking Folic properly and had read some people found them altered length. It's more the fact it hasn't come at all. Congratulations on your pregnancy 🙂

@thugtomas How about no period? 🤦🏽‍♀️ I knew the pill could alter lightness etc but coming off it, I didn't expect to miss a period altogether.

Last time I came off rigevidon I had a long cycle (34 days) followed by a 24 day cycle then I got pregnant the following month. This time I’ve just stopped last month and been doing opks non stop, didn’t get peak until cd25! I think this will be a really long one

@Sparklythings1 thanks for your insight, maybe that's what has happened. I haven't been checking for ovulation, I became quite obsessive in our first pregnancy but maybe I should've been.

I'll be completely honest, if it is a skipped period, I'll be okay with that. I think I'd rather know where my body is at cycle wise as right now I'm just thinking if I am pregnancy, something is clearly wrong for it to not register on a test.

@Glera definitely seems strange! Could it be that you are pregnant but ovulated really late? If you were as late as me to get a peak you’d only be 9dpo or something so it’s possible

@Sparklythings1you called it. Tested positive today. Going to the GP as had painful cramps on one side since Saturday. Was negative Sunday. Positive Wednesday. Hopefully all normal but feel in my gut something isn't quite right.

@Glera oh wow, fingers crossed it’s just normal cramps and everything is okay 🤞🏼 I did find the pinching feeling during implantation quite sore. I couldn’t even sit up in bed one night because everything hurt so much

Glera · 21/09/2022 08:13

@Sparklythings1 I've really appreciated you taking the time to post. Big hugs as a thank you.
