Hi everyone

It was my first month taking progesterone from ovulation

13dpo I got a BFN so have stopped taking the pessaries and now waiting for my period which seems to be taking an age.

How soon after stopping progesterone should my period arrive?

I'm keen to get it over and done with and on to the next cycle.... no sign of AF yet no PMS.... definitely not pregnant :-(

I'm worried that the progesterone has now really messed my cycle up!

I was a few days late I think for the next two periods. Try and be of the mindset that your body is sorting itself out ready for the next try and that you don’t want to rush that so it can do it properly. It helped me (...a tiny bit!).

The waiting is so hard. Flowers

I think mine took around 5 days. I had 6 cycles of it.

Thanks both!

It's difficult as I've spent a long time trying to regulate my cycle and I hate the idea of messing it all up again.

Will just have to be patient.

I've had a short luteal phase for ages (hence the progesterone) and now have a very long one.

Never happy 🤣

@YelloCar @naughtymonkey did you both conceive after a while?

I was so sure this was our month!

It’s so hard isn’t it? I suppose we’ll drive ourselves mad if we don’t at least try to be patient. First round of IVF was a chemical pregnancy and we’re trying again now. I’ve just read that apparently women are more fertile after a chemical, so that’s good. (Got to have little things to help give hope.)

@blueberry23 I went on to IVF too. Was very, very lucky our only viable embryo stuck around.

blueberry23 · 16/09/2022 13:20

@YelloCar I wish you all the luck in the world.

@naughtymonkey I'm so glad it worked for you ❤️

AF arrived today bang on time so on to the next cycle.......

Fingers crossed! X

I have a 7 day luteal phase at the moment and on clomid. The Dr is going to review after 3 cycles but has said I may need to take progesterone after ovulation. How have you found it, do you have any side effects - hate that my body seems to be doing everything wrong and the need for all these external medications. How long does it make your cycles? x

blueberry23 · 16/09/2022 16:04

Hi @Ldougal92 - I had a short luteal phase due to breastfeeding (I've recently stopped so it may be longer naturally) I'm taking progesterone after ovulation for repeated miscarriage. My LP has gone from 9/10 to 13 days but this could be the stopping breastfeeding too - who knows!
