4+5 - Line getting Lighter?

Hi,

Feeling super anxious as I took the top test Thursday and the bottom today around the same time, no extra fluids.

Has anyone experienced this in a previous pregnancy and gone on to have a regular pregnancy? I’m just worried it’s getting lighter and stressed out 😞

It hasn't got lighter it's stollen the die from the control line x

FirstTimeTryer93 · 10/09/2022 15:40

Both tests look exactly the same

EdieMG · 10/09/2022 17:02

Thank you both, I thought the control like was the other line, it’s a test called “Answer” and the instructions aren’t great at all. I had to trawl reviews on Amazon (which are slightly mixed on which is control and which is test) I got some clear blues to try instead. Thank you again.

How come you're continuing to test when you know you're pregnant? Is this a thing? You must be spending a fortune.

I did one test, then booked a doctors appointment- he said congratulations and didn't bother to do another test as he said they're so reliable (Clear Blue)

EdieMG · 11/09/2022 12:09

I had a chemical pregnancy in early August (started faint and didn’t progress) so I suppose I want peace of mind, I went to the Doctor on Friday too. I suppose it’s just anxiety after my last experience.

It's a tad lighter but hormones fluctuate and the test dyes will vary slightly too. It might be worth you testing again in a day or so to check if you're worried but try not to stress.

Returnmyrabbits · 11/09/2022 12:45

Sorry, jumping on the thread here cos I'm going crazy. Did Ovulation Induction, was triggered 15 days ago. Top test is from yesterday. Bottom test today. However, the line didn't come up initially (checked after 4 minutes and no line). Put the test aside assuming early chemical. Looked at it again a couple of hours later and it looks like this. Evap line or just took longer? Hate the wait until tomorrow to test again...

I see a proper line there. Doesn’t look like an evap line to me. It’s very stressful waiting and testing I know, try again tomorrow with FMU. Sticky Baby dust to you.

which means your hcg is higher than last time stole more dye

@EdieMG I got my bfp 3 days ago and feel very anxious and have been testing everyday since, so know how you feel. Massive congrats though 🥳

EdieMG · 17/09/2022 16:00

Thank you both :-) still going ok so far, I took a clear blue again Thursday (just to be sure) and it’s 3+ weeks now. Congratulations to you too may111 :-) so exciting x

Oh that's great news! @EdieMG
Ya I just can't seem to shake the nervous feeling

EdieMG · 17/09/2022 16:15

I 100% know how you feel but the more days pass the less anxious you’ll hopefully become
someone posted this on a forum I’m on and I find it helpful, you might too?

@OhamIreally what a dismissive comment to make! When you’ve experienced loss, yes it is absolute “a thing”.

Good for you that you tested once and had a successful pregnancy. Many of us have not had that experience and continuing to test to monitor the HCG levels rising. So what if it costs money, you’re not paying for it so why does it concern you?

Be a bit more tactful in future.

jazzibelle · 17/09/2022 23:58

@EdieMG i was going to suggest the CB digitals. After a while I think the FRERS stop getting darker anyway, and the digital ones help keep anxiety at bay when you see it progress from 1-2, 2-3, and then 3+.

I’m 5+4 and mine look the same, with a 3+ on the digi ones.

Something that helped me a lot after loss is once I got to 8 weeks I booked a scan to make sure there was a heartbeat. The odds of miscarrying reduce significantly if a heartbeat is detected. Of course I still didn’t relax until the 12-week scan, but that’s just my experience 😌

EdieMG · 18/09/2022 08:59

Thank you @jazzibelle :-) we’re almost the same due date I think! I’ve booked an early private scan too for reassurance, there’s no way I could wait until the 12 week scan either.

Also some days I have barely any symptoms so it freaks me out a little. The tests do help with anxiety, nice to chat to someone who understands, the very best of luck with your pregnancy ❤️

@EdieMG I hear you on the symptoms! Some women have a lot to deal with during the first trimester and while not fun, it at least serves as a daily reminder that the pregnancy is still going and your HCG is high enough.

If it helps, my last pregnancy I had barely any symptoms other that feeling tired, sore nipples a couple of times, and a touch of nausea. He’s currently 16-months old and wanting to play at 5:30am 🥴

This pregnancy is almost the same. Tested positive around 12DPO and barely any symptoms. When I’ve experienced loss, I’ve had it a bit rough with nausea and headaches, so it really is impossible to tell.

I have an early scan booked for this pregnancy too. Actually the EPU are doing it this time due to my history. Once you see that heartbeat it helps with the anxiety. Although honestly, I never truly got over it all through the pregnancy last time. Especially as he wasn’t very active and just kind of planked on my uterus for the first 20 weeks.

Take it a week at a time is my advice to you, and do whatever you need to do to feel less anxious and stressed. Everyone will have an opinion on what you should and shouldn’t do (continuing to test, private scans, dopplers, etc) they’re not you and this isn’t their pregnancy. Whatever gets you through ❤️

Thank you so much, that is so lovely. You’re so right. I have an album of different quotes/facts etc in my photos that I look at from time to time for some reassurance and I’m adding your last message to it. It’s so kind of you to take the time and tell me your experience and also that I’m not crazy and to do whatever it takes to get me through. Some people just don’t get it. ❤️
