Positive ovulation test right before period

Completely new to mums net but need help and don’t know where to look 😅😅
been trying to conceive since about may and still no luck, I am however still breastfeeding my baby who has just turned 2 so I’m not massively worried. Recently got some ovulation tests, and my period is super due but my ovulation test is positive and pregnancy tests are negative.. any suggestions?

It's normal. It's to do with the hormones rising to bring the period on x

Do you mean a 2 month baby OP or a 2 year old? If the former it’s quite unlikely but not impossible! If the latter, I would say good chance of a BFP - OPKs can act as pregnancy tests as hcg is so similar in structure to lh. Time for a FRER I think!

I don’t even know what all of these abbreviations mean I’m so new this 😅😅 she’s just turned 2 years old a few days ago!

Heres a picture of an ovulation test and a pregnancy test I just did! The pregnancy test is obviously negative and the ovulation one is positive

Hey lovely, so the OPK isn’t positive, it’s got a line (mine do too all cycle) but for it to be positive, it would have to be as strong or stronger than the control line. Most likely you have a peak of hormones before your period, some say it can be a sign of pregnancy to get a line on an OPK but yours is very faint xx
