Temping - good thermometers?

Can anyone recommend a thermometer that's QUICK? I had one from Boots when we were TTC DD1 and it was fine. But that was bought over 2 years ago and used for 9 months.

I've now dug it out again and it seems very VERY slow, but I'm not sure whether that's because it's old, overused, or just because I'm much more aware of the time it takes when I'm woken up by DD screaming .

So - can anyone recommend a BBT thermometer that takes a reading quickly? (or tell me how long it normally takes so I know whether mine is really past it )

Mine (boots also) used to take about 5 seconds I think. Maybe you have a flat battery (or the thermometer does )

I got mine from ebay. It takes 2mins, which doesn't seem too bad, until you are trying to take it before you get up for a shouting DD then it seems like an age.
It says 'babymad' on it, so don't get that one.
5 secs sounds much better!!

2 mins - no I'm sure mine was a lot quicker than that!

Have you timed yours tangle?

Can see an advantage to it taking 2 mins though (2 extra mins lying still in bed )

But maybe, when it finally reads it, it is higher than it should be cos you are so flustered by silently screaming, come on hurry up!!
maybe that's just me?

hmmm 'tis a possiblity . think calming thoughts I guess. Can you change the battery - I thought you could on those..might be worth a try at start of new cycle.

69 seconds , so one of us is definitely flat .

Mine's certainly a sealed unit so its new thermometer time i think.
