OPK confusion

Trying for baby #2 and I have been trying to track ovulation using opks. This is month number 3 and I've been using some cheap ones from Boots. I can never get a positive result even though I'm sure I'm ovulating! These strips require you to pee in a cup however I'm directly peeing on the stick. Is this where I'm going wrong? Does it really make a difference?! Any recommendations for opks you pee on?

Yep you need to use them as directed if they direct you to use a cup. Is there a reason you don't want to? I find it easier as it's hard to tell if you're getting enough on the POAS ones and you're likely to go over the 'max' line that is there on the cup tests Flowers

What time of day are you testing?

Blue2020 · 03/09/2022 16:53

Yes. I use a cup and I think I keep it in for just under 15 seconds and also just below the max line. I use the easy@home ones and I find them straight forward (and I use the premom app). I have an idea when I’m in my fertile window due to cm. So I usually test once a day on cd8-14ish and then once cm has appeared I test twice a day until I get the peak.

Use the very cheapest tests you can find and test twice a day. They really are all sensitive enough to detect the surge. I always got mine on an afternoon test.

if you don't have a cup to hand, you can always pee into the packet and dip in there and wait until the dye starts to rise.

Get the clearblue digital ones they are the best ones and a lot cheaper from Costco... good luck xx
