12dpo cramps, when to test?

I've been having cramping today, I'm 12dpo but only cd 21 (usually 23-25days total).
I have the 6 days early cb tests, has anyone used these and it actually showed up?
Its my friend's birthday tomorrow and I'm sick of the hassle from them if I don't drink, but also don't want to drink if there's a chance I could be pregnant obviously, is tomorrow too early to test? 13dpo, cd22

Also an added thought, I have also got the 💩s (unsure how to put that politely😂) which is a normal AF sign for me, so I think I've missed this month sadly 😔 will test and then just have a drink tomorrow night I think

@Callie25 if you are definitely 12dpo then you would probably get an accurate result now. It's the days past ovulation that matter rather than the day of your cycle. There are always examples of people who had very low Hcg 14/15dpo and wouldn't have tested positive at 12dpo so no early test can ever completely rule that out. But for most pregnancies you would test positive at 12dpo.

Obviously better not to drink alcohol if you might be pregnant but it wouldn't actually affect the embryo at this stage anyway - so not too disastrous if that test did turn out to be wrong.

Best of luck xxx

Ps usually best to use first morning's urine or to hold your wee for a while before you test (although there are also people who swear second morning wee is best)

Definitely 12DPO according to the ovulation tests, I will still test with the CB 6 days early test in the morning before I go out and if it's BFN, have a little drink.
I'm 9 months trying now and getting so fed up 🤦🏻‍♀️ thanks so much for your reply!

@Callie25 best of luck. TTC is really hard. I was stressed from month 1!!! Hope it happens for you soon if not today x

NatGee · 27/08/2022 08:58

How did you get on?

Callie25 · 27/08/2022 14:14

BFN 😔 at least I can go out and enjoy myself tonight without worrying I suppose. Really hard not to get upset and annoyed isn't it 🤦🏻‍♀️

I'm sorry to hear that. Go out and have a great time and do test again in a couple of days. It's always possible you have a slow burner in there xxx

@Callie25 sorry to hear about your bfn, maybe try again tomorrow? Xx

Callie25 · 28/08/2022 12:46

I used the early sensitive test so I doubt it, I'll just see is AF arrives over the next few days... There's always next month 🙄 x

Ok, so AF came literally as I was typing that last message 🤦🏻‍♀️ 21 day cycle this time! Even earlier than my usual 23-25, but 14DPO so at least I'm using the ovulation strips right I suppose x

I'm sorry to hear that. Having short cycles doesn't have to mean anything negative - my best friend is the most fertile person I know and has always had 21 day cycles. 3 kids and all conceived first or second month of trying.

The main thing is that your luteal phase is long enough. Having said that my cycles have got shorter as I got older so if your cycles have changed then it could be worth finding out more about it. But I doubt there is anything wrong.

I'm sorry it's taking time. TTC is no fun!!! Best of luck x

I'm 27 but I do only have 1 ovary, I had a cyst which grew and destroyed the other one during lockdown why I was waiting on it being removed 🙄 unsure if that makes a difference either?
I'm sure it'll happen eventually 🤞🏼
