Period a week late but negative tests

What could be going on?? I'm on cycle day 40 now, and all tests are negative. We are ttc.

@pixiebex86 wow that's a very long cycle. do you track? I am probably going to sound obvious, but could it be a case of late ovulation? if not, then maybe a trip to the doctors is in order

My cycles are never this long. I was trying to track ovulation around the time I expected it gave up as as never got dark line. I'm assuming I perhaps ovulated later for some reason???? Its very odd

Yes thats a possibility particularly if you stopped testing. sometimes we get a longer cycle, every once in a while. Two cycles back I waited 35 days for AF to arrive, thankfully I wasn't tracking yet otherwise I would have been very confused.
I've read of other ladies getting a longer cycle which also confused them, however, 40 days does seem like a long time. Wishing you luck and that you will know one way or the other soonest x

It looks like you’ve had a random late ovulation which has put back your period. This happened to me twice. Once when I had covid and once for no apparent reason at all.

Late ovulation or no ovulation at all. You might benefit from temping in future cycles to give you a better idea of what’s happening.

I will stock up on ovulation tests and keep track better....should my period arrive.... I'm hoping its just a little glitch in the system and I'll things will settle. I suppose if I've ovulated late, I would perhaps not be showing a positive pregnancy yet?? Time will tell i suppose. Its just so frustrating
