Frustrated - genetic testing

Hello,
Just seeking some advice/to have a grumble about genetic testing. I feel so bloody frustrated today. We have been TTC for 2.5 years now (low sperm count) finally got referred for IVF ICSI in September 2021, had first appointment with NHS fertility clinic in May 2022 and should have been ready to start treatment there and then but they said due to low sperm count husband should have had blood tests including one for genetic abnormalities he also had to see a urologist before we could proceed. Had the blood tests done that day and they said should be about 3 months for results.

Husband had urologist appoint a few weeks back and they said that fine to go ahead with ICSI but that the genetic tests were taking 6 months plus so could be just before Christmas before we get the results. I feel so bloody fed up. I don't understand why the GP or gynaecologist didn't refer us for those blood tests before, we could have had them done whilst waiting for fertility clinic appointment.

Do we just have to wait now? Is there a way of getting them done privately quicker? I asked this in May and was told no. We're considering now going private for the first round, they said we wouldn't need to wait for the results?

Guess I just needed to vent, feel like all I've been doing for the past 2.5 years is waiting. I'll be 37 next year so just want to get started...
Thanks for reading.

Anyone know of any private clinics which offer genetic testing?

Hi, I am sorry you are going through this. From what I know genetics testing usually takes 3 weeks in clinics abroad which are more affordable. If you do not want to wait, visiting a clinic abroad and bring results back to your clinic might be an option. All the best
