Hello😊
I’m getting married to my fiancé at the end of July 2023. We’re currently ttc our first baby. This August is our third month of ttc (🤞🏻) .
I would love to get pregnant and have our baby prior to the wedding, and this is ideally what we would love to happen. However, I know things don’t always work out how we would like! I’m tracking my cycle and ovulation as I know that the latest my due date could be to enable the above to happen would be in June 2023. So, my question is, what’s the absolute latest month we can ttc to have a June due date? Obviously I could have a due date before June - it’s just that the very latest I could be due is June to avoid a wedding clash!

We’re brand new to ttc-ing so I’m sorry if this is a silly question! I can’t quite get my head around the maths of it all.

Please no suggestions that we put it off until after the wedding. If we don’t manage to conceive by a certain point then we will have a break until after we’re married.

Thank you ☺️.

Need a bit more info... where are you in your cycle at the moment?

If today was cycle day 1 your edd would be 29/05/23.

But you've also got to remember you could go two weeks over edd so factor that in with your wedding plans.

Play with some dates in an online due date calculator. HTH.

You haven’t got long for it to be a June baby. Depends when in your cycle you are at the moment and when in June is your deadline to whether you’ve got another cycle left to try again or not

When is your actual wedding? Think about what the above poster said, how it could be up to 2 weeks later than due date and what if you need surgery like an emergency c section? That can take time to recover from. I had an emergency c section which I thought I was recovering from extremely well until I got too confident and tried to do too much and opened my stitches slightly!

There are due date calculators online, have a play around with those and see what's what.

As PP said factor in that you could go 2 weeks over and if you have a c section then factor in the recovery time. My c section recovery was no problem. Probably about 7-10 days and I was as new but I know others who wasn't as lucky.

My mid June due date baby was conceived around end of September.

Are your wedding plans flexible enough to bring it forward or back depending on how the TTC works out?

PinkButtercups · 22/08/2022 21:33

Probably September?
But spending where you are on your cycle.
Also as others have said too can use a due date calculator.

My DS is a July baby and he was conceived in October.

PinkButtercups · 22/08/2022 21:33

Depending not spending.

Yep my daughter was right at the end of May baby conceived in August. She was 8 days late and I had to have an emergency c section. So depends when in June your deadline is really and where you are in your cycle now. Also think if you did have to have surgery would you feel comfortable in your dress and standing for pictures and first dance and so on if you want all of that. There’s a lot to think about when cutting it close.

does the baby need to be born before your wedding? If so then try and factor in everything or wait a couple months for it to be due just after if that’s an option

I’m about to start ttc again and I use this all the time to check dates (made up future dates)! www.babycentre.co.uk/pregnancy-due-date-calculator

As others have said you don’t have long though for a June baby! We just got married at very short notice, we already have a toddler so there was a slight bit of urgency to do it now so we could try for another. Would you consider changing the wedding at all or having something smaller to sign the documents with a bigger party a few months later for friends? I have a c-section and within the first 5-6 weeks you really don’t want to be going to your own wedding 🙈 you’re still bleeding if nothing else so that would fill be with dread in a white dress! I’d personally do a tiny wedding now and then ttc.

Our wedding was great but everyone gets a bit caught up in wedding stuff all for ‘this day’ and people asked me about a thousand times if I’d had the best day of my life, yet when comparing the day our little one was born and our wedding, the moment the curtain dropped to see this little person id imagined my whole life could just never be beaten, there is no comparison! Have the baby I say!

Thank you everyone for your replies. I have a slightly longer cycle so I’m currently at the end of my fertile window for August. I’ve spoken with my partner about all of the above and we have decided that this month will be our last month of trying until the wedding. We’re in our early twenties so we have the time!
Thank you again!
