Hey everyone. I am currently taking:

B12
Coq10
D
Starflower oil and evening primrose
Folic acid

DH is taking the first three too. Is there anything else recommended for men's side of things?

I thought this thread may also help others with specifically TTC vitamins/any questions. X

Zinc for men is probably most important - a general all round male conception vitamin would do. For women, folic acid and vitamin D are the only real essentials.

Eat well, animal offal like liver has mostly everything we need

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 21/08/2022 07:41

Just to add caution to @Natgee 's comment - animal liver is very high in vitamin A, which is harmful to a developing fetus. High vitamin A content is on the list to avoid along with alcohol and some medications

NatGee · 21/08/2022 09:53

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl obviously each to their own, please do your research in conjunction with your health practitioner but I would challenge that notion. Studies show that excess vit a are indeed harmful however they're based on supplemented forms. Whole foods like animal meats contain a plethora of amino acids proteins and vitamins that work in concert when consumed, balancing each other out. I'm throwing this out there not to be contentious but just to say that nature has provided everything we need and sometimes we're not told that. 🙃

I'll do some reading @NatGee - I'm definitely not sure off the top of my head what amount of vitamin A is considered harmful and what is helpful 😊

Thanks both @IWillBeWaxingAnOwl @NatGee. Vitamin A wouldn't be considered harmful for the men to take when TTC though, would it?
