Oh and in another layer to the shit sandwich, I’m being tested for type 2 diabetes because I’m old and fat, I guess. I have been trying to lose weight since the new year and I’m getting there, but I overindulged on holiday and started getting symptoms. Got back to the diet and exercise and I’m about a stone down since January.

I’m a bit worried tbh, because I’m taking prednisolone for my next transfer (low dose) and that’s known to cause liver function problems and messes with diabetes afaik. So if it is diabetes, I guess I’ll have to tell my ivf doctor. I don’t want to stop the prednisolonone, in case that’s the thing that works for us, but I don’t want to get sick either.

Thanks ladies 😊. I can't quite get my head around how it worked either. It's all pretty mental. I guess my hormones were so out of whack they were sending each egg out duff.

I'm not getting too excited yet though. I had a small bright red bleed today 😥 I'm 5 weeks tomorrow so not out of the woods.

I'm going to test tomorrow morning to see if the lines are getting lighter, and if still looking strong, I'll book an early viability scan.

Kay00 · 01/07/2023 23:09

@thislittlebird I hope you don't have diabetes xx but you are doing the right thing getting it tested, because poor insulin management can fuk your hormones. There are strong links between PCOS/hormone imbalance/insulin resistance, which they believe results in poor egg quality.

I don't think even the doctors really understand why drilling holes in your ovaries helps balance out the hormones which in turn can produce better quality eggs. It's a bit like a lobotomy I guess, a bit of a stab in the dark, but it sometimes works. It does reduce your AMH level, but mine was too high anyway.

My bleeding stopped. Hopefully it's just a random bleed, but the next few days will tell me more I guess...

I've been off this thread for a while but thought I would have a quick read and woah @Kay00 major congrats! I'm hoping this one sticks for you but what a feeling you must feel getting a positive xx

I will be starting my next IVF cycle hopefully later this month but nothing new from me really

Kay00 · 02/07/2023 12:38

Thank you Tillybabs xx it's lovely to hear from you again 💕. I hope you are doing well? Good luck your next IVF round. Will you be trying something different this time?

JeanieJ · 03/07/2023 12:02

@Kay00 amazing news 💕😀 Congratulations and all my fingers and toes are crossed for you! xx

Kay00 · 03/07/2023 12:56

Thank you @JeanieJ 😊!! How are you doing?

I have my fingers and toes crossed too. I took some extra pregnancy tests yesterday and saw some progression, which is good, but I'm still spotting after my little bleed on Saturday.

I am going to call my GP shortly and ask for a referral to the Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit. So for now, Im not getting my hopes too high.

JeanieJ · 03/07/2023 13:30

@Kay00 I'm doing well so far, I'm 19+2 today and have my 20 week scan next week, so hoping it's all ok 🙏.
I pop here on and off just to see how everyone is doing.
How exciting for you & hopefully you can get to the EPU soon - in my area you can self refer after 5 weeks. Line progression is always good and I hope it continues and that you get no more spotting 🙏🍀.
I've been on baby aspirin since I got my BFP - they say it can be good for the early stages, so might be worth getting on that. I've got everything crossed for you x

Tillybabs · 10/09/2023 08:54

hi Sorry it’s been a while. Can I see a faint line or am I imagining it? I’m supposed to test tomorrow so I would expect the line to be darker tbh

@Kay00 sorry I’ve just seen your message. I was on BC for 8 months and then went straight into another FET cycle. My lining was 8mm for the first time ever on day 10 so went ahead. I don’t think it has worked going by my test though.

Im going to try one more time straight away

thislittlebird · 17/09/2023 06:11

@Tillybabs how did you get on, was this a transfer? Sorry for not replying, i've been going through a cycle and kept away from lots of threads

So the update from me is that my 7th embryo transfer is working. It's a very weird feeling, had two beta hcg tests now (11dp5dt 667/13dp5dt 2281) and it's just very strange. 6.5 week scan is in two weeks. I've been here before and it didn't end well so my next milestone is Sunday when I'll be 5 weeks. Hope everyone is ok.

Yaaaassssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!

Omg 😭😭😭😭 so happy!!

Kay00 · 22/09/2023 13:23

I have everything crossed this is the one xxxx

thislittlebird · 22/09/2023 13:32

@Kay00 thanks, I hope so! It's hard because when you can't conceive easily, even when it works you can't believe it will work. I'm trying to remain pragmatic since it took this long to get here :/

I can only think it's the PGT-A that's made the main difference here. We have changed meds a bit (more lubion, introduced 10mg pred, plus clexane and cyclogest) but PGT-A is the key change, probably.

OP posts:
Tillybabs · 22/09/2023 14:00

@thislittlebird hey it was a transfer which sadly didn’t work. I’m going to try one more time as we have two Frosties left so will put both in and then I’m done after that.

Congrats on getting a bfp and I hope all will be ok 🙏🏽

thislittlebird · 22/09/2023 14:07

@Tillybabs that happened to me before. It’s hard, but I took from it that at least I could get pregnant, because before that I wasn’t sure if I could at all.

fingers crossed for your next one, let us know how it goes if you want to.

OP posts:
Kay00 · 22/09/2023 14:28

It sounds positive. You have really good Betas ❤️, and the addition of PGTA should mean you have a top quality embryo in there xx

It took me a long while to believe I was pregnant after my positive tests, and if I'm honest I'm still coming to terms with it. I feel like fraud telling people I'm pregnant which is silly... but I'm starting to show now, so I'm having to tell my friends/family/colleagues.

I really really really hope your embaby continues to embed itself and you have a problem free pregnancy from now on. You really deserve it xx

99pctpractice · 22/09/2023 14:45

@thislittlebird tentative congratulations and keeping everything crossed for you!! The betas sound very positive : really hoping that this is your time xxx

beckyCarlos · 22/09/2023 15:13

@thislittlebird everything crossed for you from Leeds!! X

thislittlebird · 22/09/2023 15:59

@99pctpractice @beckyCarlos thank you! It’s one of those strange things where you can’t really believe it’s going to happen so I’ve been quite unexcited about it all. Hopefully the scan in a couple of weeks will be fine and reassuring!

@Kay00 Yeah it was a 4AA euploid and they said it had a big inner cell mass, which is apparently good! So hopefully it’ll go well when we have the 6.5 scan.

How far along are you? 3 months? Makes sense to tell some people if so but I can imagine it’s rough. I don’t feel like I’m beyond all this, if that makes sense. I just feel like I’ve overcome the first obstacle, and then there’s a ton more to come.

OP posts:
Kay00 · 22/09/2023 18:11

@thislittlebird I'm 17 weeks, so just over 4 months already 😵‍💫. I was very unexcited at the beginning too... just was pleased that I'd had my first ever positive, and that meant progress 😊

I'm so bloody pleased you have good news, I hope that little one just keeps on growing 💗

thislittlebird · 23/09/2023 10:09

@Kay00 wow, that's gone fast. I hope I can get that far! It's been such a long road and the thought of starting all over again is a lot at 40.

OP posts:
Kay00 · 25/09/2023 18:01

How are you doing @thislittlebird ?

thislittlebird · 25/09/2023 21:29

@Kay00 ok so far. Hoping things continue being ok, a long way to go until the 6.5 week scan.
