Had my beta this morning. Levels are 119, which google thinks is on the lower end of normal for 5 weeks. So I'm still in a little bit of a limbo. Clinic said it's fine and booked a scan for 1st of November. I'm not sure how I'm going to survive the next 2 and a bit weeks!

beckyCarlos · 13/10/2022 16:35

@tinkerbell098 thats good (ish, I too have been on the receiving end of the clinic saying fine but google saying doom lol). All you can do is take it easy and keep believing even though its so so hard. Remember we're all behind you and here whenever you need us 💕 x

JeanieJ · 14/10/2022 10:35

@Tinkerbell098 I hope those levels progress for you 🤞🏻❤️

Tinkerbell098 · 14/10/2022 11:25

@beckyCarlos thank you! You're right. There is nothing that I can do but hope. The next few weeks are going to draaaag!

@JeanieJ Thanks! Hope you are well?

99pctpractice · 14/10/2022 21:33

@Tinkerbell098 fingers crossed for you! I hope it isn't too excruciating having to wait - the clinic should know what they're doing and would tell you if it was something to worry about!!

pinkginpls · 17/10/2022 08:59

Hey all just popping in and catching up on the thread. Pretty much no update from me. Still waiting for my condition to be right for a FET. Waiting too long.

I hope everyone is doing well. x

Tillybabs · 24/10/2022 11:08

@pinkginpls I know that feeling as I've been there. Have you and FETs cancelled?

Sorry Ive been really quiet. I'm having my first FET on Friday. I've got mixed feelings because my lining isn't optimal but it's not bad either. It's the best I've had so far put it that way and they've tried so many things.

Do I need anaesthesia because the form asks if I want it?

Tinkerbell098 · 24/10/2022 11:36

Hi all, sorry been a bit quiet as my mind was all over the place with the faint lines, low hCG bloods etc. Clinic seemed it's fine, but gut feeling said something's wrong. So I decided to go for a private scan yesterday. They couldn't find anything. I was 6+2 yesterday. They were very thorough, the whole appointment took about 2 hours (was meant to be a 10-15 min scan). They sent the videos and images to the clinic lead for a second review - nothing! So I am classed as "pregnancy of unknown location". They have now referred me to the EPU who are seeing me on Thursday. I rang up my clinic this morning, they didn't sound pleased I went for a private scan. Apparently it's not in their policy to regard private scan results! Their scan is booked for next Tuesday, which they might cancel, depending on what EPU's verdict is. I'm still getting positives on home tests, so the private clinic suspects an ectopic. I haven't bled yet, but not sure if it's the cyclogest preventing that from happening. I'm so sad and so worried.

@Tillybabs I haven't had a frozen transfer, but if they're anything like a fresh transfer, you won't need anaesthetic I don't think. It wasn't painful and was so quick! That's great you can have a transfer this week!

Tillybabs · 24/10/2022 13:02

@Tinkerbell098 I'm really sorry to read your update. I can only imagine how worried you must be. I hope they do see you and you can get some answers soon

I'm currently on oestrogen and progesterone. Does it give mild cramps? Well not cramps as such but slight tenderness in the uterus area?

beckyCarlos · 24/10/2022 14:49

@tillybabs aw thats exciting! Hope youre feeling ok! I didnt have any anaesthetic for (fresh) transfer, I was suprised by how little I did feel!

Oh @tinkerbell098 I'm so sorry, I hope youre managing ok, hopefully EPU will come back quickly! I feel like clinics are great when everything is 'normal' but not so much when theres a curveball, which you'd think would be at least 25% of the time !

99pctpractice · 24/10/2022 17:36

Oh @Tinkerbell098 that is so sh1t. I'm sorry you've had to go through that - it is so hard when you get your hopes up. Sending lots of big hugs, it is desperately sad. I can't believe that your clinic was huffy with you about going for a private scan, that should really be the least of their concerns.

99pctpractice · 24/10/2022 17:40

@Tillybabs that's exciting! We had our donor egg thaw and oh fertilisation today so with any luck I'll be transferring on Saturday so just behind you! I don't think you should need anaesthetic (I haven't previously) unless you have had any previous issues? At my first clinic I got to watch the embryo flash into my uterus at the time of transfer, which was pretty special, so I think it's worth being awake for if you get to watch the screen!

Tillybabs · 24/10/2022 18:00

@99pctpractice oh that's exciting! I have my fingers crossed for you.

I had to drop off the consent form today and they said I don't need anaesthesia. I do remember reading you see it all which is exciting

How do others feel on the oestrogen and progesterone?

beckyCarlos · 24/10/2022 19:31

Ooh @99pctpractice thats so exciting! Do they call you tomorrow and update on fertilisation etx?

99pctpractice · 24/10/2022 21:23

@beckyCarlos I hope so! And how many eggs survived the thaw in the first place.....will be interesting to see how this works with someone else's eggs 🤞🤞🤞

beckyCarlos · 24/10/2022 21:49

Oooh so they didnt tell you that today? Does it feel super different beauase theyre not your eggs or is it still the all consuming "oh my god what is happening"?

99pctpractice · 24/10/2022 22:32

@beckyCarlos better in some ways because the pressure is off me personally (phew), but still nerve racking because we have no idea how things will progress.....it felt weird to wave my oh off this morning and not have to do anything myself...the donor has proven fertility, but was 35 so at the older end of donor age at the time of donation, so we can only hope she still had some good eggs!!

99pctpractice · 25/10/2022 12:03

We found out all 12 eggs survived the thaw but we only had a 50% fertilisation rate...after getting fertilisation rates of 90/100% with my own eggs, I'm now not feeling optimistic! If we're lucky we might get one embryo at the end of this....and then there's no guarantee that it'll be viable. Having already discovered that ivf is not the magic ticket to getting a baby, I feel like I should have been prepared that donor still might not result in a baby, but I'm still a bit floored....

beckyCarlos · 25/10/2022 12:06

Thanks for the update @99pctpractice, good and not so good news there! I have everything crossed for you x x x

Kay00 · 25/10/2022 20:21

@Tinkerbell098 I'm sorry to hear you might have a pregnancy of unknown location. I will keep everything crossed for your scan on Thursday.

@99pctpractice I wish your 6 fertilised eggies all develop into great quality Blasts xx

Sorry I haven't been on the thread much recently ladies. I have had a lot going on including working very long hours and an MRI on my brain and spine which thankfully came back all OK 🙌

After my botched IVF round I now have the protocol for the next round through. I'll be starting the Northisterone on 13th Nov, start stimming on 1st Dec and should be doing the egg retrieval around the 14th Dec.

If I have any good Blasts (I only had one last time) then we'll be looking to fresh transfer w/c 19th Dec... Right before Christmas.

If I get to transfer something then I'll be on my best behaviour over Xmas 😇 and test day will be NYE 😵‍💫 but if I get no blasts then I might check out of Xmas 😓

Tillybabs · 27/10/2022 09:14

@Kay00 oh gosh what a time to be doing a transfer! But good luck and I hope it all goes well

@99pctpractice wishing you all the luck with your 6 eggs xx

99pctpractice · 27/10/2022 16:45

Hi @Tillybabs how are you feeling in the run up to transfer tomorrow? So exciting!

@Tinkerbell098 hope it went ok this morning. Thinking of you!

@Kay00 gosh I hope everything is ok with you, having an mri on your brain sounds involved, glad to hear you didn't have any negative results. V exciting that you have your new protocol!!

My pal who had pancreatic cancer died last night 😢 just a couple of months since his diagnosis - he didn't even get to chemo because he deteriorated so rapidly. it was clear that he was declining but it's still achingly sad. 💔 I'm really hoping that we have an embryo to transfer on Saturday because it's all felt like a bit of a succession of bad news lately...

Tillybabs · 27/10/2022 19:33

@99pctpractice I'm ok and trying not to think about it too much. I've started getting very small cramps and worrying about those but I've been told it's normal when talking oestrogen and progesterone.

I hope you get to transfer 🙏🏽

I'm really sorry about your friend as well. Life can be really cruel 😞

Tillybabs · 28/10/2022 14:38

Had my transfer this morning. It was not a smooth ride lol

My bladder wasn't full so I had to drink water and then they weren't sure if they could see an embryo sac so asked if we've had unprotected sex which we had as no one said not to and I didn't think of that tbh. It's probably my adenomyosis and not an embryo sac.

So I had to test. It was negative although Im 5dpo so they decided to go ahead but I kept bursting to go wee so had to wait a while longer.

They had trouble getting the catheter in at first and I was bursting to go toilet.

I've noticed a small amount of blood. Is this normal?

Of course I googled and now I'm stressing about whether there was blood on the catheter

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 28/10/2022 14:52

@Tillybabs catheter insertion can definitely cause a little bleeding through irritation and minor damage (nothing to worry about). Best of luck with this transfer x
