Bfp lines not getting darker... Need positive stories!

Hey ladies,

I've been trawling the forums looking for positive stories of women who's bfps didn't get super dark immediately. I've had two chemicals already this year and I'm absolutely terrified the same is happening again. On top of that this time I'm using progesterone pessaries which could potentially mask a miscarriage if it was to happen which is why I'm testing so much. Let me know what you think! Attaching tests from last three days which look identical to me. I was trying to be strong and not test today but eventually caved so today isn't FMU but I expect it would look similar. Anyone go on to have a successful pregnancy with tests like these?? I have a GP appointment later so hoping to be sent for a blood test. Thank you x

Yes, and I was down the same panic spiral with my tests. I had tests from ivf clinic which were more reliable but could not resist testing in between. The very first one from the clinic (top one) had a light line, first response the next or same day was clearly positive, then in a couple of days the line got lighter (third from the top). I was a mess. Retested with the clinic test a few days later and it was a nice dark one.

all tests were done with first morning urine but I know that the concentration in it still varies (did you have more to drink before going to bed/ drink during the night / did you get up for a wee during the night etc).

you can also see that the control line in this batch of first response tests is back to front!

Thanks for replying @lillipilli

Omg I'm driving myself absolutely crazy with it I can't concentrate on anything! Are you sure those tests aren't just dye stealers rather than back to front? I've not heard of that happening before but if they're dye stealers that's a good sign! How far along are you?

@Maxime34 I’ve never heard of dye stealers before 😂 (this was my very first positive ever after 7 years trying and 3 cycles of ivf). I see what you mean and what people are saying about dye stealers but the first two tests that I took were on the same day or the very next day (I think I just couldn’t believe it ) so it would be strange that a more sensitive clinic test was so light and first response so dark? I am 31 weeks now 😊

Hope gp can sort out a blood test for you so you can know for sure but from what I see I would say it keeps being positive so that’s great!

@lillipilli that's wonderful news I'm so happy for you. Thank you for being so kind. I've been referred for some blood tests so just need to wait for that to be booked in. Just a waiting game at this point I think. X

I am so so so sorry to hear that, it is devastating. I have faced a lot of negative after negative tests over 7 years which is another sort of torture but I can’t imagine how difficult it is to have been given hope and then it being taken away. I hope you have a supportive partner and taking time to feel whatever you need to feel before better days will come, and I hope that will be very soon for you xx
