EWCM after ovulation?

Hello - how normal is it to get ewcm after ovulation?

After several days of flashing smiley on my clearblue advanced OPK, I finally got my static smiley on Sunday morning. I was experiencing ewcm Sat-Sun. Yesterday I felt like my cm had turned a little creamier which would be expected, as 1DPO according to my tracking, but today my cm is wetter with a bit of ewcm. Can anyone shed some insight into what that might mean for ovulation? We didn't DTD yesterday, but did do regularly in days leading up to and day of peak...

This happened to me and it turns out I was pregnant

Unfortunately it was a chemical pregnancy though

bellaolive · 17/08/2022 15:41

Sorry to hear that @LilacSky95 ☹️ I'm definitely not pregnant though as had period roughly 2 weeks ago and had tested prior.

Anyone else experienced similar?

Yes I sometimes get watery / ewcm after ovulation. Usually in the few days after ovulation. I'm quite sure I'm getting my ovulation date right as I track temperatures and get cramps/bloating on ovulation day.

Sorry OP i I was trying to say this is what happened to me directly after ovulation, my exam came back and a week later I got the positive test x

Ewcm not exam!!

J1290 · 17/08/2022 16:59

bellaolive · 17/08/2022 17:14

@LilacSky95 whoops sorry - reread your comment and now makes sense to me!

Thanks @vitahelp & @J1290 - helpful to know I'm not going mad and dating ovulation wrong/the only one!

I sometimes get ewcm a day or two after ovulation. And some cycles I dry out completely on ovulation day.

bellaolive · 18/08/2022 21:23

4DPO tomorrow and still had a tiny amount of EWCM today and definitely not drying up down there (sorry TMI!) now worried I ovulated later than I thought but I had peak smiley on Sun morning so surely not this late! Gosh the things you worry about when TTC 😂

Same as previous poster. I got EWCM later on in the cycle on the month I conceived.

LilacSky95 · 18/08/2022 21:53

Forgot to add, apparently ewcm after ovulation is the body producing the mucous plug

NatGee · 18/08/2022 22:16

Yes, I noticed some last cycle, think I was a good 5DPO but the quantity was definitely a lot less than during ovulation

Hi @bellaolive I hope you are well?

I hope you don’t mind me joining - I’m in a similar situation this month. 3rd cycle TTC baby 1. I got my peak on the CB OPK on Friday afternoon, I got the flashing smiley in the morning but just couldn’t shift a headache so tested in the afternoon and got a static smiley. DH and I DTD from Wednesday to Sunday and then had a break as we were shattered 😂 anyways I was sure I ovulated over the weekend but then today I’ve got EWCM and I’m not sure if that means I’ve missed my ovulation? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated as I’m driving myself crazy xxx

bellaolive · 27/09/2022 21:04

Hello @RJS20 - I'm good thank you and now 8w pregnant with baby no.2! Still not sure what that late EWCM meant, but it was the month I fell pregnant, and we didn't DTD religiously once my ewcm continued, so hopefully so long as you've made the most of your fertile window you'll be fine! Fingers crossed for you 😊

Hi @bellaolive thanks so much for getting back to me and massive congratulations. How are you feeling?

Thanks I did another OPK and it’s showing peak fertility… I think I’ll just DTD for the next couple of days to cover all bases.
