Hi all

I am curious to know how long it has taken anyone to conceive their second baby.

I know it's different for everyone but I'd be interested to hear others experiences.

6 months just got my bfp yesterday

Goodnewsday · 16/08/2022 20:48

I’m about to start the same thing and we were quick with our first, only 2 cycles and had just come off the pill but in hindsight we would have struggled to miss ovulation with the amount we ‘tried’ 🙈 I feel like we’re both still a bit scarred from what a tiresome experience it was and I’m hoping to attempt the second one in a bit of a calmer fashion

canonlyhopexo · 16/08/2022 21:00

@seasunshine22 congratulations 💛

@Goodnewsday it can be an intense process especially when you're having sex as frequently as every other day. We've done that now for 4 months and still nothing but I do have gynaecological issues that was diagnosed before we conceived our first baby. Good luck 💛

Two years and counting I'm afraid!

Mustrryharder · 16/08/2022 21:09

11 months for the first and 9 months for the second x

Yabbadubba · 16/08/2022 21:14

Glad I found this group. We have just had our first unsuccessful month with TTC #2 and it’s upset me more than I thought it would. We’re older, fatter, and I’m sure it will take much much longer this time 😢

canonlyhopexo · 16/08/2022 21:16

@Greymalkin12 bless you. It's an exhausting process x

canonlyhopexo · 16/08/2022 21:17

@Yabbadubba when you are hoping for a pregnancy whether it's been 1 month trying or years, it's always upsetting when AF comes. You'll get there and there's more time to have more fun 💛

8 months for first, TTC baby no2, 9 months in and had 2 miscarriages. Hoping for a BFP soon & a sticky baby! Good luck OP x

canonlyhopexo · 16/08/2022 21:19

Thank you @Mammma91 and I'm sorry for your losses. I had a chemical the first month trying for the second but I'm trying not to think about it. Hopefully see you on a BFP thread very soon 💛

Two months, same as with my first.

Greymalkin12 · 16/08/2022 21:25

It's been interesting, the first time it took 9 months. This time round (the two years) I have had four miscarriages, all conceived within a month or two (and then starting again after the next period). Good luck to everyone!

zeromango · 16/08/2022 21:50

First cycle (sorry!!) but I'd lost a shed load of weight and had been taking "trying for a baby" vitamins a month prior (as we knew which month was wanted to start trying in) grapefruit juice during my fertile week (probably didn't help but tried anyway) and conceive plus lubricant. DTD every other day, I know how lucky we were though. Two previous MCs and one elder DD.

Charl881 · 16/08/2022 21:58

10 or 11 cycles and counting. Have had two chemicals during that time.

But it did take 13 cycles to conceive DS so I’m not surprised.

EdinburghGirl1 · 17/08/2022 08:07

hi I am currently ttc #2 as well although will be OH first. It took 4 cycle with my first and currently on 1dpo in 3rd cycle ttc#2. I'm hoping it's similar but I'm 37, nearly 38 so know it's harder as you get older. Was stressing quite a lot about it all yesterday. Have you been trying long @canonlyhopexo

BiscuitLover3678 · 17/08/2022 08:10

On month ten currently 😭 nothing happening.

First child was instant and only a few years ago. I say instant because we only had sex once that month!

BiscuitLover3678 · 17/08/2022 08:10

Don’t underestimate the health of your DH

canonlyhopexo · 17/08/2022 08:14

Morning @EdinburghGirl1 it's not a fun process at all I don't think, because no matter how many times people say have fun trying it does get tiresome when you're not actually achieving what you want from it 😂 no, we've not been actively trying that long. Between 4-6 months. I have endometriosis and only fell pregnant with my son after I had a laparoscopy. He's just turned 3.

canonlyhopexo · 17/08/2022 08:16

@BiscuitLover3678 he's very fit and healthy. In much better health than when we tried for DS1. I have endometriosis.

@canonlyhopexo yes it is hard to 'just have fun' when you just want it to happen. My DP is desperate to be a dad and I so badly want it to happen soon for him/us. I am a planner and a slight control freak and all the not knowing with ttc is so frustrating lol

canonlyhopexo · 17/08/2022 08:25

@EdinburghGirl1 bless him, I'm sure your time will come, although nothing anyone says can make you feel any better really. Hopefully we will cross paths again soon soon on a pregnancy bus 💛

EdinburghGirl1 · 17/08/2022 08:36

Thank you hope it's a luck month for us both

skybye · 17/08/2022 11:04

Hi everyone,

My LB is about to go nursery and I feel so ready for another baby.

It took us 7 months to conceive him and I drove myself mad!

We only DTD once in My fertile window this month due to the heat wave I couldn't face it 😂

We haven't been trying, trying, I had a chemical a few months ago

Fingers crossed for us all 🤞🏼

Charl881 · 17/08/2022 12:57

Unexpected update from yesterday, got a BFP this morning! If it sticks that makes 10/11 cycles TTC #2 compared to 13 for #1. But I’ve had two chemicals this time around so not counting on it.
