Is it safe to take vitamin B6, without going to doc, to lenghten LP?

It is just a vitamin isn't it?
Or ought I to check with the doc?
My LP is 11 days on the dot every month for 3 months now and I think it might be too short.
Esp as I am sure I have had 2 cp's in 6 months of ttc.

I have been taking my folic acid for 5 of those, I didn't last month though.
I haven't been taking anything else.

I don't know anything about taking it lengthen LP but I know it is a recommended supplement to help with morning sickness.

I took 10mg a day when I was first pregnant as that was the recommended dose (although MW told me to get it from diet = 10mg 10 bananas ).

I remember researching it on the internet at the time and finding that in the USA they take 60-100mg per day for morning sickness.

Keep up the folic acid though .

I didn't know that I wonder if it would have helped me at all when I had HG(is that what they call it?) I was VVV sick anyway.

Anyone else got any thoughts this am, before I go out and buy the stuff?

I got mine cheap in morrisons - local boots etc didn't stock it (but then we are out in the middle of nowhere). The health food shop B6 was very expensive albeit a higher strength - about £6 a bottle I think for 60mg . Morrisons was 99p for 10mg and you got a lot more tablets at the correct dose.

I'm no expert but I'd say if your LP is 11 days then you have nothing to worry about. It's probably best not starting to muck around as high doses of anything can knock other things out of kilter IYSWIM and I don't think that the lower doses make any difference to your LP.

Having said that.....I took high doses of B6 for a while because my LP was dead on 8 days each month - FAR too short!
Didn't seem to make much difference and my GP was very wary about it all.

Twiglett knows about doses and other helpful things but I think if you have too much you then become deficient in B12.....and so it goes on!

Not a lot of help really am I....but I don't think you need worry.

I think I maybe needed to hear something like that.
I really don't want to be taking things, but, you know, I just want to do anything that will improve my chances and I thought that a simple vitamin wouldn't affect anything too badly.
I read somewhere that less than 12 days may be worth looking into?
Having had the 2 CP's and worrying about D&C damaging my linings I would feel better if my LP was a little longer.

I've mentioned my short LP to my GP and to my fertility consultants several times. They don't even seem particularily interested!!!

This TTC lark is all a mystery isn'tit?
As much as possible, relax, don't worry about every little twinge...and it should happen. Easy to say I know.

We tried for 5 years...got fed up of trying...and then.....pg!!!
It does happen.

Hi I've been seeing a fertility specialist for short lp. I thought my lp was about 9 days long. I received treatment 4 2 months before having a laparoscopy in Nov. The surgeon found serious adhesions and one of my tubes turning up the wrong way - all a result of the c-section I had with my son 2yrs ago. He put things right and then we scanned my ovaries so that we could accurately see how many days lp I got after ov and it was 10 days. My consultant said he likes to see an lp of at least 12 days and prescribed clomid. I was expecting to start the clomid on the weekend. On saturday I still hadn't come on and thought i'd do a test and.......BFP after over a year of ttc! So you can conceive with 10 days. It's such early days and I hope everything goes well with this little one. With 11 days you should be fine. I have another friend who conceived with an 11 day lp. Lots of luck
