Weird period… need advice please

Hi all

I had unprotected sex with my partner last month cycle day 4. Fast forward to cycle day 25 (I’m usually on a 24-26 day cycle) I came on my period. It was nothing like it usually is, brown cm, then only one day of red bleeding (usually have about 3-4 days of this) then brown cm again for a day. The last day there was so much ewcm slightly tinged with brown. None of this has ever happened before and now I’m worried. I was very sick the other night, but this I believe was due to the heat.

Looking back I believe I ovulated on day 7 of my last cycle due to ovulation type pains. We are not ttc but due to all this I took a pregnancy test the other day which came back negative. . I’m now having very mild pains low down, day 6 of this cycle. Sorry if this is all confusing with days etc. i have really short cycles and seem to ovulate earlier than I thought.

im sure if I was In fact pregnant I would have tested positive by now. I just can’t understand why my period has been so different this cycle and I’ve also had loads of gummy/glue type cm the whole time before my weird period. Please help!

Test again in a couple of days. What test did you take? Some are more sensitive than others. Also the time of day you test makes a difference to.

You could be having what they describe as a chemical pregnancy (a very early miscarriage) lots of women have them without even knowing they are pregnant.

Pregnancy aside it could be the heat. My periods are always effected by heatwaves 🤷🏽‍♀️

Thank you that’s reassured my mind a bit, knowing that heatwaves can actually affect periods. I just haven’t ever had a ‘period’ like this before. It was just a cheap waitrose test and I did it at about 8pm so not fmu. It was a pack of two so I’ll take the other one in a few days. I did wonder if it was implantation bleeding but as I think I ovulated so early last cycle I’m not sure?

i don’t test for ovulation as not actually ttc but I can usually feel it. so not certain on when I actually ovulated

If it was a chemical pregnancy would it be normal that I’m testing negative at the point where I am in my new cycle?

Cheap tests are fine - pink dye is more reliable and sensitive than blue.
Definitely take a morning test. I am pregnant and then I started testing I would get negatives in the evening and positives in the morning for about a week.

I have also experienced an early MC and was showing negative from the day I started bleeding - I don't know if that's a normal thing or not to be honest.

As for the heat - I'm one of these wired people who's periods get effected by heat, the moon and other peoples periods if I'm around them 🤪

I would say if you were pregnant you’d have had a BFP by now but all you can really do is leave it a couple of days then test again / wait ti see if AF arrives fully.
